NOTICE: The Township of St. Joseph RE: Chickens in Residential Zones This Announcement serves as notice that Council has discussed the issue of chickens in residentially zoned properties. At this time council has decided not to develop a new policy or bylaw regarding chickens in residential zones. The current Zoning By-law states that chickens are not allowed in residential areas. Those who have chickens in the Richards Landing Residential Zone will be expected to rehome pou...ltry to comply with the current by-law. If you have any further questions or comments regarding Council’s decision, please feel free to reach out to the Mayor or members of Council.

The Province of Ontario has announced a province wide shutdown as of Boxing Day to Saturday January 9th. Schools will remain closed an additional week, and non essential businesses must remain closed or offer curbside pickup. See all of the details here. Township staff will continue to serve you by phone or email after the Holiday break, for the remaining period of the shutdown, January 4 - 9th. Christmas came early for some Seniors in our community! An anonymous donor has purchased 30 Turkey Dinners from Fannie's on the Island for community Seniors and Meals on Wheels clients to be distributed through the Dr. Trefry Seniors Centre! JOSEPH MUNICIPAL LANDFILL SITE TIPPING FEES WAIVED for household refuse from Sunday, October 4... through Saturday, October 10 Construction materials and commercial waste will require tipping vouchers Shingles must be separated, valid landfill permit sticker required.
