SATURDAY MAILING Happy Saturday! Today's Advent word: DWELL. To dwell is more than just to live or to be somewhere; it is a sense of being more than a location. The root means to tarry, remain in a place, it's a long-term existence where the heart of the matter lies. This is why when we pray for God to come to our hearts and lives, we invite him to dwell; to stay, to be resident, to be permanent. Colossians 3.15-16: Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts; let the word o...f Christ dwell in you richly. Sheila Lavender prays: Loving Creator, known to us through the life of Jesus and others who have nurtured our faith, prepare us once again to celebrate the coming of the Christ child into the World. Open us more deeply to the indwelling of your Spirit in our lives and in our living. Remind us of your abiding presence in both the joyous and difficult times of this season. Continue to grace us with your love, steady us through life’s trials, and restore us to the beauty and calm of inner peace. Amen. All People that on Earth Do Dwell: https://www.youtube.com/watch Today's Faith challenge: Identify one way that your life has changed as a result of Christ's dwelling within you. Share with a loved one! Please join us Sunday morning at 9.30 for our Advent 3 worship: we will be in the church building, as well as live-streaming on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/stjohnslunenburg/ And we will be on Zoom (same link as last Sunday!) Every blessing, Laura Marie+ See more

FRIDAY MAILING Good morning, Today's Advent word is Story. Our traditions are found in stories; in hearing, learning, telling, creating... stories play a part of our lives and our relationships, we reminisce with them, we grow with them, we celebrate holidays with them... and as our stories continue to evolve, and intersect with others, we recognise which stories touch our hearts and shape our lives. The Greatest Story Ever Told: Luke 2.1-7: In those days a decree went out f...rom Emperor Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. All went to their own towns to be registered. Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. A Prayer For Telling Our Stories, by Kelly Rae Roberts: "May we know our lives as beautiful, messy, masterful works of art. May we celebrate our fullness - the highs and the lows. May we remain rooted in our heart's truths, and not fall to comparison. May we believe that we are immensely valuable, wise, and good. May we embrace our power to recreate and redefine our stories. May we honour our wholeness. May we speak with gratitude. May we be, always, brave in love."
