St. John's Rowing Club 08.02.2021

Rowing Newfoundland and SJRC are sponsoring a family for the holidays, parents and four children. Lots of our rowers have already contributed - it's not too late for you to chip in with a donation too! If you'd like to help, please send an etransfer to [email protected] - the sooner the better, so we can get the gift to them before Christmas! They'll definitely appreciate anything you can share with them.

While we were erging today, look who was out on our pond! And here you thought Santa travelled in a sleigh pulled by reindeer!

Hi all! We’re hosting a boat naming ceremony to honour some of the members of our community throughout the years tomorrow October 10th at 2pm and would love for people to come join us! Due to the limited capacity of covid 19, we’ll be hosting a Facebook live of the event as well here on our Facebook page!

Please find the SJRC Return to Rowing Plan below!: Hi everyone, All of us at SJRC hope you’re all staying safe and physically/mentally healthy during this time! ... As you are all probably aware, the province is scheduled to move to Alert Level 3 on Monday, June 8. While we are still awaiting our official season start date (sometime next week!), our board of directors has come up with a Return to Rowing plan. At this time, physical distancing measures are still strictly being encouraged. This means we are allowed to have athletes row singles (with some modifications to our usual procedures and set up). As a result, we have decided to only allow our current Junior Competitive and previous Adult Masters rowers who are comfortable/able to row a single, to row at this time. Once we gauge the interest level, we can begin to make a schedule and decide on pricing. As we get warmer weather, less restrictions and are able to see how well everything works, we will continue to add in more programs and rowers as the summer progresses! While this season may look a little different, we are excited to welcome you all back to SJRC for another great summer! We look forward to hearing from you soon. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us! Stay safe! The SJRC Family

THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!Celebrating our last day of Volunteer Week, we want to recognize everyone who has helped shape rowing in our province. Pictured: Ann Dorw...ard (SJRC registrar), Neva Fudge (SJRC secretary), Lindsey Freeman (SJRC board member), Paul Power (RNL executive director), Joy Hecht (SJRC/RNL treasurer), Doreen Hamlyn (RNL president), Adrian Miller (RNL past president), and Jill Kelly (provincial team parent chaperone). We are so lucky that this is not the end of the list, and there are more volunteers involved in our organizations that aren’t included here but also have a hand in our success. We hope you know who you are! Thank you! #nationalvolunteerweek #volunteerweek2020 #rowing #applaudvolunteersNL St. John's Rowing Club See more
