Dear Beloved Parishioners, Winter isn’t quite here yet. Indian summer is on it’s way, arriving next Wednesday and lasting for a week of double digit highs of 14 - 15 degrees....Continue reading

Dear Beloved Parishioners, I hope you had a chance to enjoy the wonderful weather this week, especially on Friday. I am sure you are aware that all good things must come to an end, and Sunday is going to be rather chilly. This will be a great test for the heaters in the tents, however, they are tents, they are not going to be as warm as inside the church.... Keep in mind, now that the tents are enclosed spaces, masks are required for the safety of others. I am very pleased that we are celebrating another Confirmation on October 24th along with a wedding. It was interesting how last weekend the wedding couple improvised and used our sound system to play the music for their first dance, in front of the church. The couple also used this opportunity to dance with their parents. They told me that the Oakville reception restaurant for 10 people would not allow them to have their first dance, so they were very grateful to be dancing in the parking lot. The COVID cases in Canada have been rising, which are a concern for all. I hope and pray that the tidal wave of cases in Europe will not happen here in Canada. Thank you for all your efforts, concerns, and your love of neighbour, which is helping us to keep the cases somewhat under control here in Canada. It is encouraging to see that Canada has moved down the list from the 26th country to the 30th country in term of the number of cases per country on the world-o-meter. However, I would ask you to pray for the countries in Europe, especially France, who are struggling with 41,000 cases yesterday and 42,000 cases today. Please join me in praying for some sort of medicine, cure, or vaccine, that will bring this pandemic under control world wide. In these difficult times, there are still many things we should be grateful for; even if they are hard to see at the moment. Please don’t let the overwhelming sense of darkness that is portrayed in the media, dampen your spirit. God has not abandoned us, and if you look closely enough, I think God is closer to us in these difficult times. It has been such a privilege being your pastor over the last 12 years, and the pandemic has made me acutely aware of how blessed I am to be given the opportunity to serve you. Priesthood is such a blessing from God!! Thank you for all your loving concern that you have shared with me and this wonderful Parish we call a family. Thanks, God Bless Fr. Bob

Dear Beloved Parishioners, Caledon is such a spectacular place to live this time of year with all the Fall colours. Be sure to spend some time soaking in the majesty and beauty of God’s creation. A special thank you to Margaret from Rock Garden Farms and our decorating committee who have brought the beauty of creation and brightened up the church with Fall colours.... This made for a festive celebration of Thanksgiving and helped us to appreciate God’s many gifts in our lives. This weekend’s bride and the Confirmation candidates, will enjoy this bountiful display. I feel very blessed as we continue our Confirmations, every Saturday through the first weekend of November, and the two upcoming weddings on Oct 17 and Oct 24. I can only imagine how spectacular the wedding photos will be with such a beautiful background of Fall colours. We have covered our outdoor tents with large black tarps, that act as a solar blanket to hold the heat in that the sun graciously provides. We have also installed temporary construction heaters inside, to make the tent space more comfortable. Please be sure and tell us if you can’t hear the speakers as sometimes they need to be turned up or redirected for your benefit. However, please be reminded that the tents are now enclosed spaces, and you are expected to wear a mask to protect the safety of others. The tents are also sanitized with a fogger, before and after each Mass which needs time to dry, so please do not enter until 15 minutes before the Mass. For those who are outside in their cars and in the tents, it is starting to get windier outside, please be careful as you are receiving Communion to avoid crosswind. I would like to thank everyone who made an effort over Thanksgiving to protect others from the coronavirus. The second wave has produced many challenges that can only be overcome by our cooperation with the Public Health guidelines. Thank you again for all your efforts. I am hoping and praying that the churches will remain open, so I can see you each week and enjoy your friendship, your support, and your love. I am reminded of the first shut down and how sad I became not having you in the pews and not being part of your life. Even though I prayed for you everyday, it is not the same as being with you, and enjoying your presence in our midst. Remember Jesus said, When two or more gather in my name, I am with you. May God bless and reward you for your goodness and faithfulness. Thanks, God Bless Fr. Bob
