Today the Church celebrates one of our Canadian saints - Saint Brother André Bessette. Brother André was known as God’s Doorkeeper. He served humbly and faithfully, praying with many who needed healing, placing confidence in the intercession of Saint Joseph, for whom he had a special affection. You can delve a little further using the link below. We have much to learn from our saints. Saint Brother André, pray for us. https://www.saint-joseph.org//spiritu/saint-brother-andre/

Our Music Ministry would like to share a little Christmas with you since we can’t serve as we usually would - in a group at Masses. We hope you enjoy our Silent Night as much as we enjoyed recording it and sing along with us! A couple of heartfelt Christmas greetings at the end. Merry Christmas from the bottom of each and every heart! https://youtu.be/2XnO6K372wc

Another great outdoor, family-friendly, COVID-safe event! If you have yet to move over to Corpus Christi’s Facebook page, it’s a great time to do it. Check out what’s happening this Sunday! https://fb.me/e/fQkP5RB8l?ti=ia

IMORTANT - PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT: 1. Day/start time different - 7:30pm on a Friday, unless rainy. 2. Late that week, we’ll decide/share if rain date needed. 3. P...lease wear a mask for arrival/departure. Bring your chair! 4. Parking will be directed. 5. Ushers will distance seat all. Household groups will be seated together. 6. Washrooms available/sanitized for those in need. Please use only as truly needed. 7. The cap on numbers means RSVP-ing to the email given is wise to ensure a seat. If you reply and no one shows up from your family by 7:20, we may need to give the seat to another. 8. Please consider volunteering if you are able. Our needs are greater for this worship event and our musicians/singers/sound/gear folks cannot be ushers etc as well. If you value this, please email and offer a hand if you can. Without help, we cannot make this happen. Volunteers will decide whether we can move ahead. 9. In this utterly challenging time, we hold fast to St. Paul’s words that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ. Please pray for us as we work toward the event and for each other. We all need the gifts of the Holy Spirit to help us find new, creative ways of worshipping together. We look forward to worshipping beside you, well maybe not exactly beside you, but nearby! God bless. See more

Friends of St. Joe’s, our community’s offering for Corpus Christi’s Festival is shared here. The festival has been ongoing since June 5th and will culminate with a large parish-wide offering on Sunday, June 14th, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. It’s coordinated by Andy Webster, Duncan Pike and the Communications Ministry and features wonderful contributions from each corner of our parish as they sing together, City of God. The song here was inspired by a very powerful experience receiving Communion in St. Joe’s choir loft. We hope it draws you into his presence. God bless. Remember to check out the new Corpus Christi Facebook Page. This link takes you there.

Usually, we don’t get to see the faces of these wonderful musicians who have given us volumes of beautiful liturgical music we sing at Mass. Hope you enjoy this collaboration on one of our beloved and enduring Catholic classics. When we’re back at Masses, take note of our songwriters. These names will be there.

We honour St. Joseph the Worker today. Let us ask his intercession as we pray for all workers who, during this very difficult time, faithfully work for the common good.

Happy 3rd Sunday of Easter! Today’s Gospel reading is the Emmaus story - Jesus appearing to disciples after his death and resurrection, as they journeyed toward Emmaus, west of Jerusalem, a little less than the distance from Kentville to Wolfville. They were unable to recognize Jesus as they walked and talked with him, even as they heard Jesus interpret the Scriptures that refer to the Messiah, Jesus himself. Still, Jesus is not recognized until the moment the bread is broken... - When he was at table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight. Had we been attending Mass physically together today, we would certainly have sung this song. It was written specifically for our community in Easter of 2017. Although we are apart, please sing along from home. May we know him in the breaking of the bread! https://youtu.be/JaLBcJPms6A

In our deep sadness, we pray for all those in our province and beyond whose hearts are hurting. May God welcome the deceased into his arms and may he soothe the broken. Let us together lift these intentions in prayer today and in the days ahead. We trust in our comforter. God bless.
