Makin' Waves is a female a cappella chorus from Saugeen Shores that sings tight 4 part harmony in the barbershop tradition. They have been in existence more than 20 years. Their director, Pat Bowers, competed internationally in a quartet. Old time rock ' n roll, Broadway show tunes, religious, country and pop are some of the genres they sing. Our community looks forward to welcoming Makin Waves to Kingsbridge Centre when we re-open.

The Belmore Community Choir started out as one time deal for Belmores 150th Homecoming and has continued to perform since then. The Huron County Cloggers and Steppers was formed over 30 years ago in Winthrop and entertains at many local functions. In a combined performance, these two groups simply fill Kingsbridge Centre with energy! We cant wait to have them back again!

Cant wait to re-open and welcome back this fantastic group from the Kincardine area. The Howlin Dog Vintage Jazz Band features a mixture of New Orleans Dixieland, Blues, and Swing. If you enjoy the sizzling sounds of hot, authentic Jazz, this band is for you! Plan to make your way to Kingsbridge Centre when our concert series resumes.

One of the many events we had planned for this year was an evening of Casual History with David Yates. David Yates is a familiar face in the area as a local historian and author of two books, Out of the Woods: Chronicles and Characters of Huron County and Out of the Blue: Further Discoveries in Huron County. We are thankful that we will be able to reschedule this special event and look forward to learning more about the history of the Ashfield Township area.

It was a such a pleasure to have Steve Deasy, a Detroit based performing songwriter, producer and arranger join us for the first time on stage in Kingsbridge last season. Steve has been recognized by the Kerrville Music To Life and Great Lakes Song-writing competitions. He writes in the tradition of Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger, with new folk, classic rock, pop, & jazz influences. We are grateful that Steve has agreed to join us once again when we re-open Kingsbridge Centre.

We just had a wonderful gift given to Kingsbridge Community Centre. This is the black and white picture of St Joseph's Church Kingsbridge by Brian Dalton given to Mary Clare a few years ago. It has now been donated to Kingsbridge Centre by Mary's daughter Mary L-Clare Schreinert to be displayed in the centre for all to see. The artist, Brian Dalton has written on the bottom of the picture "to my first and best teacher." God Bless Mary Clare and Brian Dalton, and a special heartfelt thank you to Mary L-Clare Schreinert for passing this on to us all. God's Blessings.

So much musical talent in one family! We were so fortunate to have Cheryl Ann, Mary Paige and Irelyn St. Onge join us for the first time in Kingsbridge during the concert season last year. They perform many different genres of music with wide appeal to all audiences. Future concert seasons look full of promise and were glad they will include performances by The St. Onge Girls.

Today we recognize The Full Nelsons. This is a Goderich-area band who play rock music spanning from the 1960s to the current day. They started in 2005 and have continued to rock on with the same membership since the beginning. Most of the members are local optometrists but the important member who drives the rhythm by playing drums and percussion is the only non-eye doctor Craig Smith. Other band members are Simon Taylor on vocals and guitar, Rich Samuell on bass and vocals, David Weaver on guitar and vocals and Paul Padfield on guitar, keyboard and vocals. When Kingsbridge Centre is open again for concerts we look forward to welcoming The Full Nelsons to our stage!

Many of you know Marvin Scott as he is often in attendance at Kingsbridge Centre for the many shows and gatherings. Marvin is dedicated to old time fiddling music and this past March he had encouraged his musical friends to join him for a fun-filled jamming session at Kingsbridge Centre, Olde Tyme Tunes on 21. We had all looked forward to an evening of fiddlers, vocals, keyboard and guitar. We are grateful that Marvin and friends have agreed to join us next year for the 2021 Season at Kingsbridge!
