Wishing all the best to a former St. Luker...Bonnie Marie got married in Whitehorse last week to Johnny Eolai. Looks like they had a lovely outdoor ceremony. Included in the family photo are the children who we loved having run around our feet at coffee time: Lily, Violet and Gabriel. They've grown so much! Little Gabrielle was just barely walking when they left for Whitehorse. God Bless!!
#CovenantTLC: As COVID-19 continues to transform the way we live and work, what does the future hold for churches and their use of office space? Essay by Mark Michael, "We Don't Need to Be There Nearly as Often": http://ow.ly/RKIA50BUB20
Hey and good day. Why not, when you're browsing around the internet and FB, take a moment to look more closely at the parish website. Lots of news, resources. For example, you can join in very brief prayer services with the Church of England through the day, morning, noon, night, and compline. Always under 10 minutes, (Times over there are ET plus 5 hours, btw.) Click on "Daily Prayer". And how about checking around on other website buttons and tabs for recent updates. Enjoy.... And blessings to you. https://stlukesanglican.ca/ See more
Blessings to you in the Season of Harvest and Thanksgiving.
Baptism, 2020 style
One of the good things about 2020 has been the handwork and success of the gardeners at St Luke's Community Gardens. Good work and congrats to all. See y'all in 2021.
Huge congrats and a big 'thank you' to Marilyn McKenzie (photo - right) for 50 years of service to the community !

Here's a peek at what our Animal Wellness Clinic has looked like! Maggie, Jan, and April donate their time and expertise to help care for our community members'... pets. The donations we raise will go towards purchasing medication, vaccines, and supplies for the animals. If supporting this program calls to you, we have created a fund through Canada Helps called "Veterinary Outreach". We have been blown away at the amount of folks that are needing this service, and we are thrilled to be able to host it. All contributions help us continue this initiative. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/onecityptbo/
Same steps here ...

I’m joining other religious leaders in Quebec in decrying the provincial government’s incomprehensible decision to limit attendance in places of worship to as f...ew as 25 people when theatres and concert halls can still receive up to 250 people. Among other things, it creates the completely illogical possibility that one of our church buildings would be allowed to host a concert for 250 spectators but forbidden from having more than 25 peoplein the very same buildingfor a worship service, even though both groups would be taking the same precautions around physical distancing, mask wearing, hand sanitizing, etc. Churches, synagogues, and mosques in Quebec have been assiduous in the creation and application of measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, and we have been proactive partners with the rest of Quebec society in the collective fight against the virus. Out of an abundance of caution, Anglican churches in Quebec remained closed to in-person worship all summer, and some have chosen to remain closed out of a desire to protect those most vulnerable. Not a single documented coronavirus outbreak in Quebec has been traced back to a place of worship, and yet we are being subjectwithout any consultation whatsoeverto harsher restrictions than other sectors of society with confirmed outbreaks of COVID-19. This is not special pleading, nor a seeking after special privileges. Rather it is simply a plea for this government to recognize the unique role faith communities play in the lives of hundreds of thousands of Quebecersincluding in sustaining them through this pandemicand to have any limits on our capacity to meet together applied in a consistent way, based on reason and scientific evidence.

Today, the Diocese of New Westminster elected the Rev. John Stephens to be their Coadjutor Bishop. I am delighted to announce that Bishop Riscylla Shaw, who was... nominated in that election, will continue to serve here in the Diocese of Toronto as a Suffragan Bishop and Area Bishop for Trent-Durham. Thanks be to God! See more
