January 7, 2021 Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff, The government of Ontario has announced the extension of teacher-led online learning for elementary school students until January 25, 2021, due to the continued rise in COVID-19 cases across the province. This aligns with the return to in-person learning for secondary school students, which was previously announced.... Their commitment to learning in the virtual environment has been outstanding. Although learning online presents its challenges for staff, students and families alike, our goal remains to provide an excellent Catholic education for our students. Resources are available to assist parents on The Parent Learning Hub on the Board website at: https://hub.sccdsb.net/ St. Clair Catholic is also committed to supporting the mental health of students, families and staff. Students or caregivers seeking immediate mental health supports can text 226-402-1593; or visit the Mental Health and Wellbeing web page on the Board website at: https://www.st-clair.net/mental-health-home.aspx St. Clair Catholic counsellors work collaboratively with families to respond to student needs for counselling. Students, parents/guardians and caregivers can either be referred by a classroom teacher or self refer. The self referral form can be found at https://forms.gle/nb3kDmHje4ATYSYA7 Individuals who submit the form will receive a call within 72 hours. If you are currently down, please be patient and continue to try to connect throughout the day. If your child's teacher is currently unavailable please know that they are working to try to resume contact with the class as soon as possible. As is the case each year, our school will be supporting the annual Poppy Fundraiser for the Sarnia Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62. However, this year, due to COVID-19 we will not be accepting cash donations at the school.
