St. Nicholas Catholic School

Our grade 1 classes had a wonderful afternoon at the John Janzen Nature Centre. They explored, wondered and learned about creatures in our environment.

Today was a big day at St. Nicholas! Students and staff celebrated Vyshyvanka Day by wearing embroidered blouses or yellow and blue. We also had our walkathon for the two families from Ukraine who have joined our St. Nicholas family. We are not yet ready to announce an official total for the funds raised, but are blown away by your support. The St. Nicholas family is certainly called to more!

8 Books entered they battled dogs, cats, people and so much more. It has come down to FRUIT vs. VEGETABLE! Nothing Rhymes with Orange and I Yam a Donkey which book will be victorious?

Tomorrow is our walkathon, rain or shine! Students in the Ukrainian Bilingual program will also be honouring Vyshyvanka Day by wearing their embroidered shirts. Students in the English program are encouraged to wear blue and yellow!

On Thursday we had Erin from @strathcocounty Broadview Enviroservice Station in to talk to our grade 4 classes about what should and should not go in green bins, black bins and blue bags. She also shared information on what can be brought to the Broadview Enviroservice Station and how Strathcona County is a leader in many areas when it comes to reducing, reusing and recycling. Thank you Erin! We look forward to our field trip in June!
