Go home to your friends, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and what mercy he has shown you. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/ ( N. Macavei-Kotcz unsplash.com)

Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old, things that we have heard and known,... that our ancestors have told us. We will not hide them from their children; we will tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. (Psalm 78:1-4) See more

A perfect day to say farewell to our former incumbent, Canon Janet Read-Hockin. Thank you for your loving care of our church family. Wishing her all the best of God’s blessings.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. ... It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat. The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. -Psalm 19

And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. John 3:14-15. This passage is printed at the bottom of this cross in Jordan on mount Nebo, where Moses was allowed to see over the Jordan river into the promised land. When you stand next to the cross, you look out over the Jordan valley and over to Jericho and beyond to the Mount of Tempation. ... God’s plans where already set in motion and what Moses was being granted a view of was where history would record God’s love for his children. From the founding of Israel to the arrival of Jesus and his victory over the devil. The Holy Cross of Christ was already set before us, even back then, and all of history was marching towards the foot of that cross. Have a blessed Holy cross day.

Greetings on this 12th Sunday after Pentecost, It is with great joy and pleasure that we welcome the Rev’d. Ken Johnstone to St. Nick’s as our Interim Priest-in-Charge, beginning Monday, August 24. It is our hope and prayer that Fr. Ken’s gifts, mingled with ours, will be a time of blessing for St. Nicholas, and for the Birch Cliff community. Please remember Ken, his wife Lisa and their son Joshua, each other, and our community in your prayers as we embark on this new minist...ry together. Ken, Doug, & Suzanne

Then Jesus called the crowd to him and said to them, Listen and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles. Matthew 15:10-11

Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, You of little faith, why did you doubt? When they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God. (Mathew 14: 31-33)
