Scarborough is experiencing the biggest increase in the number of food bank visits compared to other regions in Toronto. STO would like to support those in need in our local community as the holiday season approaches. Please share what you can by dropping off at any STO location your non-perishable food donations from now until Dec 17 in support of local food banks. Did you know:... - 1 in 7 people in the Toronto region struggle with food insecurity - 34% of those relying on national food banks are children, when they only represent 19% of the population - 40% of food distributed by Canadian food banks is fresh (eg. milk, eggs, fruits and vegetables, bread) Thank you for being a champion to your community!
