So today was clean out day. We offer this as an opportunity for our church family to support a sister work in Parrsboro by donating their wages for the day. Our friends at Open Arms love their community. They definitely live up to their name: from special days helping to lug groceries, to music in the park, to regularly helping the local food bank program, to woodchuck events where they help community members put in their winter firewood. If you want to support a community- minded group, this is a great one! Thanks to our FBC/Open Arms family, our great employees, and friends who helped make this a fun day of hard work!

This may be from Texas, but it's true here, too. CFIA has higher standards for our farmers and food than other jurisdictions, including the US and EU. Canada has some of the safest food in the world! That's something to be proud of. If you have questions about your food, just ask your farmer. So many farms have social media presence or websites. Our families work hard and face real struggles in order to feed our friends and neighbours. Help us to overcome those struggles by being supportive.

Come visit us for Open Farm Day 2018 on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 1pm-5pm. Activities throughout the afternoon, with educational tours every 30minutes.

Our head grower works hard to keep our veggie plants healthy. We use good bugs, like bees to keep the crop happy. Protecting our food and our environment are important to our family, because we feed yours.

Our locally grown, vine-ripened cluster tomatoes are a great choice for summer salads and burgers. Find our Tomatoes on the Vine at your local Sobeys this week! And when you do, snap a pic and tell us where you found them. We'd love to see how many friends and neighbours get to enjoy the fruits of our labour!

So these delicious little guys are in your Sobeys flyer this week! Mini Sweet Peppers are a deliciously summer treat. There's no heat in these little peppers. Eat them as they are as a fresh snack, or with hummus. Or try stuffing them with cheese, wrap in bacon, and bake in the oven for a sweet pepper popper. Try them on the bbq with your favourite cut of steak. Any way you slice them, these sweet little peppers are a treat!

Hey Friends and Neighbours! We're cleaning up and doing our final picks of tomatoes and peppers over the 1-2 weeks. We have lots of lovely #1 and #2 peppers and tomatoes available for the next week.
