We are pleased to report that the Medical Officer of Health has closed the outbreak at Stone Brook. All swabs for employees, and Residents of Stone Brook have come back negative! This is a testament to all the hard work Care staff have been doing to keep everyone safe. We were able to limit the transmission by following the proper procedures and protocols including proper hand hygiene and wearing face masks. We are sure you will join us in saying thank you to the all Care staff for keeping everyone safe!

Our Health Care Aides are an integral part of the team here at Stone Brook. Thank you for all that you do!

Over the weekend we were notified that a staff member who has worked at Stone Brook over the past week has tested positive for COVID-19. This employee followed proper procedure by not coming to work when symptoms first appeared and got tested right away. As per Alberta Health, one positive case is considered an outbreak. When we received this information proper protocol was followed and AHS and CDC were contacted. Following their recommendations all residents and employees a...t Stone Brook are being tested, starting this morning. All swabs originating from a Stone Brook Resident or employee are considered priority by AHS. We continue to monitor every resident to ensure they are not displaying any symptoms. We have been in contact with families and employees over the weekend to ensure everyone is informed and understands what is happening and what is expected of them. To help minimize any possible risk, we ask that any Designated Family or Support Persons that has planned a visit to Stone Brook consider rescheduling their visit until everyone has been tested and the outbreak declared over. Please call 780-228-5962 and leave a message to reschedule or change your visit. You will receive a phone call back within 24 hours. We strongly encourage that you connect using video chat or by phone. If rescheduling your visit is not possible, please ensure you screen yourself before entering our facility. It is mandatory that you follow best practices which includes hand washing/sanitizing and wearing a face mask at all times during your visit and we continue to strongly encourage social distancing where possible.
