Did you know that cats are only half as likely to be brought in to visit the veterinarian as dogs? A large percentage of people quote the difficulty of getting their cat to the vet as the reason not to bring them in. Here are some helpful tips from the American Association of Feline Practitioners to help make your kitties next trip to the vet less stressful! https://catvets.com//PDFs/ClientBroc/Cat-to-VetHandout.pdf

The third "new" member of our team we would like to introduce is the wonderful Leslie Somerville RVT! Leslie was born and raised on a farm in central Saskatchewan. It was there that she developed her love for all animals big and small. She cared for everything from hedgehogs and hamsters to horses and cattle. Leslie graduated from Sask Polytechnic with her Veterinary Technologist diploma in 2017. Her 2 year old daughter and 10 year old Shiba Inu keep her very busy. She joined our staff in February of 2020. Welcome to the team Leslie!

Our next team member we would like to introduce you to is the lovely Morgan Skotheim RVT! Morgan joined our team after graduating from the Animal Health Technology program in Vermilion, Alberta in 2019. She graduated from the Veterinary Medical Assistant course, also offered by Vermilion, Alberta campus, in 2017 before completing the AHT program. She then realized that she was very passionate about Veterinary medicine, and wanted more hands on work with the animals. This is w...hen she decided to apply for the AHT program to become a Registered Veterinary Technologist. After college she decided to move to the City of Saskatoon to complete her practicum. Growing up in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan was a big part in finding her passion in animals; with many family and friends living on farms she was always trying to learn and be around all different species of animals. In her spare time she enjoys going for walks with her boyfriend and their Siberian Husky named Kiah. Morgan's newest addition to the family is a cat named Mia who is a DSH tortie with a crazy personality. Welcome to the Team Morgan!

We have a few new faces that have joined the Stonebridge Veterinary Hospital team to introduce you to over the next few days! (Spoiler alert: some of these "new" faces have been here a while, we just wanted to formally introduce them!) Dr. Allison Hay is a recent graduate from the WCVM and is originally from Calgary Alberta. She has always had a passion for working with animals. This passion coupled with her love of learning and teaching is what brought into the field of veterinary medicine. Allison is fear free certified and is looking forward to meeting you and your pets! When not working at the clinic Allison can be found cuddling up with her own pets (a cat named Tippy, and a dog named Daniel), or out on the trails running and hiking. Welcome to the team Dr. Hay!
