This is a great little enterprise and Mark Lowe and the students running Seaside Creamery need our support! The lobster rolls are awesome too!

It's June 24, a very significant day for us. Not only is it my husband's birthday, but it's the day that Risser Design Build started our build last year! It's hard to believe... what a year it's been and we just LOVE our new studio/workshop/garage since December when it was finished. Such a beautiful job they did! You can read all about it on our blog (starting at part 6 when they broke ground) https://www.stonecourtevents.com//part-6-birthdays-and-bui

Huge congratulations to ABCO Industries Inc. We were so happy to contribute in a small way with the help of Picnic Studios - this is a fantastic result for our community! https://lighthousenow.ca/article.php

APRIL 3 Exactly one year ago today we arrived in Nova Scotia and our new home. It's been quite an amazing year for us... and we want to say a very special thank... you to Risser Design Build - Barrett & Melissa and the entire crew and all the trades who helped build our beautiful studio. And to Simple Local Life - Jen & Lynn who first helped us connect with so many people here... and to Picnic Studios - Tim & Justin who are the first people we have worked with. Thank you to our neighbours and friends we've made in Bridgewater, Lunenburg and Mahone Bay... and Buchanans House of Music - Paul & Eilidh and my fantastic flute teacher, Tricia Snell. We are so fortunate to be here - to be living in a small community at this time and we're looking forward to connecting more when this virus interruptus is over! I finally had time to write a blog update - its a reflection on the last 4 months... weirdly a very different time... and if you are interested check it out: www.stonecourtevents.com/blog See more

Small business owners unite! I think the key to getting through this (and we WILL get through this!) is to work on all the things that you never have time for: 1. Update your online presence - take this time to freshen your website and online channels; review your profiles, update your messaging... take a look at what your competitors are doing, maybe do some online learning about SEO updates or ways to make your site more effective. 2. You know how we are all encouraged t...o post something on our Social Media streams every few days? well, now's a good time to write those blog posts you've been meaning to write, stockpile a series of posts; imagine 'life after Covid-19' - you can always edit them later, but get the bulk of your message down now. 3. Do you have tips and tricks to share about something you're good at? Offer your services in exchange for something you need help with. Or how about hosting a webinar, offering online counselling using zoom or skype. Start a YouTube channel - share your expertise! I've heard a few musician friends are starting to teach online. Who knows where that could lead? 4. If you're a photographer, videographer, illustrator, artist...take time to archive/catalog your work; do you have images or footage that could be sold for stock? Look at what other artists are selling as stock, maybe you can create a new batch of work to sell? 5. Learn! There is a ton of resources out there for free or for a low fee; learn a new application or brush up on the ones you already use. 6. Clean up your desktop, create clean archives, change all your passwords, get rid of the clutter coming into your inbox... 7. Get out in nature, walk the beach! I can't even express how head-clearing and revitalizing it is to walk the beach - puts everything in perspective! ...and at this time of year, they are almost deserted. I hope this helps. As longtime entrepreneurs, we've had some painful downturns over the years and I know that if I keep busy and do at least one thing that's productive or challenging each day, it really helps keep the anxiety at bay. Let's all support each other.

We're working on getting the sound just right in the studio... The velvet curtain is up and the acoustic panels are here! Now... to find some time to put them up.
