Jewelry Tutorial How to make cute Kitty Earrings using the Amoracast cat ear bead cap Basically, I have here a 2 inch ball pin, with some 3mm bicone Swarovski crystals, a large pearl, and an 8mm round faceted bead - here it's black onyx What I do is simply use a pair of round nose pliers, make a full round loop. Then I use flat chain nose pliers and I hold onto the loop and then I push the wire around (I like to use this way - it's a lot easier)... And then I simply trim and I add on the earring hook. And I then bend the tail a little bit. Perfect for Halloween Black Kitty Earrings super easy with Cat Ear Bead Cap by Amoracast (online product code FC2CS for silver FC2CV for gold vermeil) For the rest of the beads you can substitute with anything you have handy. The best size for the head is 8mm, but works for 6mm and 10mm (you’ll simply have to bend the ears a bit to accommodate). The pin is 2, but if you want a longer tail, can use longer pin - super cute with seed beads and curl the tail around!!

Jewelry Tip - Simple stud and an assortment of enhancers that are interchangeable I like to make a bunch of drops, some on long chains, some on short, and thread them on with the post before the post goes into the ear. you can do this with any stud and any drops or charms you have handy. I’m showing you an example - swipe left to see what it looks like without the drop. Totally different, right? Let me know what you think. Items I’ve used here:... Gold filled stud - 3mm cz bezel set $6.88/pr (online product code FE74G) Gold filled earring stopper $1.68/pr (FE3QG) Amethyst drop similar to $35.24/str of 30 drops (SQ0FR) $1.7 ea drop Gold filled flat cable oval $12.24/m (CO16G) $0.32/ inch x 1.75 per earring Gold filled wire 26 ga (0.4mm diameter) soft $6.77/m (FW18G) used 10cm per wrap as seen in photo - $0.68 ea drop gold filled jump ring -3mm 24ga $0.13 ea (FJ12G) to connect drop to chain - but you don’t need it if you’re wrapping directly onto chain See more

Jewelry Tutorial - Photographing Jewelry . Please let me know whether this has been helpful (or at least interesting )- comment below and I’ll reply to all questions and comments . For more how-to videos search #sfhowto If you have a tip - please share with us knowledge is best shared I was shooting studs and thought I’d share with you my set up because a number of you have asked about photography Basically I've got bristol board which I have taped to the top - s...o it creates a slant without a crease, and two desktop lamps with photography daylight studio lightbulbs (they range between $24.99 ea to $35 for 4) - not the grocery store kind - and I've covered those with tissue paper to diffuse the light. I'm also shooting this video plus photography on an iPhone X. note - I’m not one for fancy gadgets and I am frugal, so I am not suggesting you run out and buy the latest...but the iPhone X is far superior in video taking quality. The photos are ok with the iPhone 6 (my last one). I also like camera phone over a DSLR camera because it is more convenient for loading and posting. I have to edit the photos because I cannot get a huge closeup without an extra macro lens- but I don't use a special app for editing a photo like this Also with the iPhone X often times I have to make it slightly brighter because it's trying to capture many of the details (and automatically darkens it if I’m shooting in brighter background). Don’t be too alarmed by the editing - tech has come a long way - it will look natural and only take a minute or less to edit

Doing photo shoot today and decided to make a quick post about lighting I have here 3 pairs of earrings (stud and 2 prs of hoops). I’ve taken the same earrings at different angles and lighting (both using iPhone X) A) Low light 2 of 4 lights turned off, and raised to eye level and B) All 4 lights and flat lay (flattish)... I find low light richer and more depth, esp with silver. What are your thoughts?? Which style do you prefer? Should I upload both images for each style on our website or is one or the other good enough for purchase decision making??? Products in photos: 5mm Swarovski Crystal pearl studs 925 silver (with backing) $6/pr (online product code FE98S) 925 silver 45mm hinged hoops$7.62/pr (online product code FE8FS) 925 silver 12mm Hinged Hoops $3.24pr (online product code FE8OS)

Jewelry Hack Pairing and storing pearls (or irregular beads)To see more hack and short how-to videos - search #sfhowto Pairing tiny baroque pearls (or any pearls or stones) made easy Leave the pearls on the string for as long as possible - keeps them from rolling, easy to see the drill direction and easier to move the strand along for size comparisons Basically they are graduated and what I do simply is cut it in the middle, and that way, I could just slide them along an...d figure out find the low-laying fruit (easy pairs) first before I cut and take them take them all apart. So, I've got that and sometimes I use things like this container which is a Swarovski Crystal tray that they came in, a paint palette or egg carton. You can also use things like ice cube tray - all sorts of things . And if you are running short of them, then you could put them in the same area. I look for the easy pairs first and I cut it all along. Then I slide the strand along to find easy pairs as well and I put them in Ziploc bags thereafter Let me know what you think of this video what other ideas do you have for organizing beads/pairs? Pls comment below and share with the community. I will respond to all

Jewelry Hack How to easily make deluxe silversmithlooking hoops even if you don't do any soldering! (ok, this is my giant secret that I’m sharing for free - and I have sold so many pairs to happy customers, I really hope you appreciate how big this hack is comment below your thoughts and I shall reply to all ) For more hacks and tutorials search #sfhowto About this video - I didn’t have time to show it, but I brushed them at the end using fine steel wool you can get ...at any hardware store - you can use sand paper or nail file...anything with texture, but steel wool is the easiest to get into the crevices The hoop on the left is unique, organic and so much nicer But instead of making your own from scratch, and having to solder, I use one that is machine made and I transform it. easy!!!Basically, here I have taken it and manipulated it - twisting certain corners. Be careful to make sure that they close properly - that is essential. As well, the tubing has a seam, so you don't want to over force it so that it cracks, and make sure that you're pinching it as you go - smoothly and gently. It takes a bit of practice but here we have the organic shape - it's already transformed. If you want them to be identical (symmetrical), you can use a marker and mark where you want to crimp I used 25mm 925 silver hoops (online product code FE9LS $2.53/pr - minimums apply)

I made an interesting discovery this weekend my 13 year old daughter’s hands are exactly the same size as mine, even though she’s small and 5 shorter . She is a ring size 7 and loads of patience (unlike my 16 year old) which makes her a perfect hand model for my rings. Far better than trying to take photos with my wrinkly/gardener chapped hands I’ve also discovered that stacking patterned rings together create different completely different rings - swipe left to see ...other and what I mean. I hope new images will be uploaded onto the website soon meanwhile, I’m going to put them on Rings instastory highlight. (And my daughter provided great input on the styling and selection of the photos - it was a surprisingly good session for bonding )

Because you asked Jewelry Hack - Reaming chain links to fit jump ring Sometimes you have fine chain and you want to attach it to something, but the jump ring that you might want is a bit too thick. So, you can use wire wrapping ( search #sfhowto to see video for that) or you could take a pin and ream it - from my oval link you can ream it so that it's stretched to more of a circular link that could fit the jump ring Now, this only works if the chain is oval and could ...be turned into circle - so that it's rounder and wider. You can use a push pin, thumb tack...anything round coming to a point that is the same or slightly larger diameter than the jump ring In this video: the chain links are 1.2x1.6mm outer diameter and here I have a 20 gauge (0.81mm thick) jump ring. It normally doesn’t fit through the chain(CO16G). Please let me know if you found this video useful (comment below and I promise to reply to all comments and questions)
