Stony Plain and District 4-H Beef

Today two of our leaders from Duffield 4H dropped off juice crystals to the Cross Cancer Institute. The juice crystals are used when patients undergoing cancer treatments require CT scans. The contrast fluid given to patients does not taste pleasant and the juice crystals are used to flavour the contrast fluid helping patients to drink it. But the availability of juice crystals is all by donation. Members of Duffield 4H collected enough juice crystals and money to be able to provide juice crystals for the next 6 months. Thank you members for your hard work to provide a gift needed by many in our community.

It is January and members are gearing up for public speaking but it will look different this year. Public speaking learned in 4H will have the largest impact on members as they navigate through life. So while it will look different this year, it is NOT cancelled. Good luck to all members!

A new month means it is time to weigh calves with either a scale or by heart girth measurement and weigh feed to know how much your calf is eating.

4H is for all kids, rural or urban ages 9-20 years of age. It will teach communication, leadership, record keeping and building relationships. A great program for all!
