Stop Bremner

Land, air, and water are an inherent right for all living things. Considering the direction council sails into making decisions, it is alarming. For instance, we can’t base our prosperity based on forecasts and assumptions that Bremner will increase our tax base and sustain our services. Population statistics for 2016 was 98,044, and 2018 was 98,381, which begs me to ask why Bremner? Let’s face it, we are running out of land and the climate change crisis leads us in an opposi...te direction. Irregular or declining populations in many municipalities have leaders reevaluating their options. With provincial funding removed, we truly are in a unique position of considering innovative ideas such as solar arrays, recycling food wastes, passive home subsidies, agricultural subsidies. This is an opportunity for this community to establish a leading role in climate change while protecting our land, air, and water. Consider this event a circumstantial invitation, for all partners in a community to absorb the impact of provincial fiscal restraint, collaboratively while exercising a proactive approach for sustainability.
