PCOS Sucks. For 5 years I lived in fear of not becoming a mother. I was one of the fortunate ones. Today countless others are living with the harsh realities of PCOS as they struggle to conceive. My symptoms went undiagnosed for years. As a teen while others were blossoming into puberty my period never seemed to come and when it did it was always irregular. I went an entire year without a period at 19. My male doctors clearly knowing very little about the female cycle placed... me on birth control- which in hindsight was a terrible course of treatment. Please use this as a tale of caution if you or your daughter, sister, friend, neice, have irregular periods please seek medical advice. There is no cure (yet). Alternative medicines aided in my treatment. September is PCOS awareness month.
