It seems as thought the rest of the world is starting to appreciate the beauty and kindness of our community...

Our Community Food Drive last Friday was a HUGE success. Thank-you Storrington District for helping neighbours who are quietly struggling during the pandemic. You've helped us replenish the shelves at the local food bank, ensuring no one goes hungry this winter.

Storrington Lions Club is spreading a LOT of Christmas cheer these days through donations such as five iPads and an iPen to the residents of Brooks Landing Retirement Home. The club is also giving $2,500 to Child Life Specialists with the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (to be used to buy gift cards to Tim Horton’s, Dollar Store, Toys R’ Us and Walmart); $2,500 to Fairmount Home for the Aged; $2,500 to Battersea United Church Food Bank; $2,500 to Ken Garrett Memorial Park Fundraising Campaign; and, $2,000 ($500 to each the following four public schools): Storrington, Perth Road, Elginburg and Glenburnie. This amounts to a total donation of $14,500. Wow - how great is that! Pictured is club President D'Arcy Marconi presenting the iPads to Brooks Landing on Nov. 23.

Our Roast Pork Dinner last Saturday was a BIG success. We're delighted to announce it sold out and raised much-needed funds for our little club (with the big heart) in the country. Thank you to our AMAZING community for the support. We have been hard-hit by the pandemic and this fundraiser will help us survive the winter.
