Things have been going great on a creative level lately! Ideas are popping for Odd Jobs (adventures to script) and how to explain the spirit behind the rules of The Crystal Galaxy. And, specifically, I’m writing an Odd Job called All Eyes on the Star. Drawing maps, actually, and loving it!! Back to the larger picture, though, this time around it’s a far bigger focus for me to bring the GM and Players onboard with how the galaxy and system function behind the scenes. I think ...the ever-evolving Story-First RPG System will ultimately provide a solid, well-explained framework of rules/guidelines allowing everyone to draw their own ideas and mechanics very simply into the system. What I mean is, when a grenade goes off, you will know what you can normally expect (as both Privateer and GM), but that the system won’t stop anyone from doing some very heroic, very unexpected things with it. If you’re thinking it’ll have something to do with the components used to build it, you hit the nail on the head! Just had the idea this morning and it needs work before I mention it again, though. Lol And, on my friend Chris Rogers’ side, he just send me a bunch of amazing new illustrations for alien designs he dreamt up, and I *think* he agreed to draw even more for that new Odd Job I mentioned, too, so all in all, things are going great!!
Played a crazy-fun Odd Job tonight with family. Other than the group picking the scenario (the job description and pay), the night was 100% improvised by everyone, especially me! I had a blast and so did they!
Starting to (slowly) work toward making updates to the new TCG page... Please Like and Share, also!! :)
This coming weekend, March 23 & 24, I’ll be running 1-hour test sessions (all day and evening) for The Crystal Galaxy RPG. I’d sure love it if y’all could spare an hour to play a futuristic, exciting and reality-based tabletop roleplaying game (or even just drop by to show your support!). All you need to bring is a set of dice!
Morning! I was reflecting on the nature of creativity today. I haven’t been sleeping well and it’s given me time to be introspective. Lol Anyway, it’s always seemed to me that being creative can be likened to planting an acorn. You tend to it, care for it and protect it - spend time with it as your focus, I’m saying. And, in return, that acorn sprouts. [ 273 more words ] https://storyfirstgamesblog.wordpress.com//the-forest-of-/
