October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Its more than just raising awareness of breast cancer. It's about joining a collective of Canadians who are proving t...hat life is bigger than cancer. With more than 70 Canadians being diagnosed each day there is much work to be done. In this segment we meet three Vancouverites who are doing great work in raising awareness while supporting breast cancer survivors and providing tanglible options and tools to thrive!

The Walk for Reconciliation Canada -

On August 1st we marched in honour of #EmancipationDay in Vancouver and spoke with leaders from the Black Freedom Society to continue pushing the - sometimes uncomfortable - conversation forward with a focus on more love, equlity and unity for all. Thanks to Makadi, Mandela Nsenga and others for sharing their passionate voices on this all-important day! #BLM

#Juneteenth is a powerful date for the freedom of all people across North America. Although it marks the date of the end of slavery in the US, many of those freed men and women came to Canada. Yet many of them were still not entirely free. Held down by a system meant to oppress, black citizens have been unfairly targeted by a complex network that allows others to prosper. It is time again, that we come together in unity and in love, and recognize that NO MAN OR WOMAN IS TRU...LY FREE UNTIL WE ARE ALL TRULY FREE... And do the work it takes to liberate our brothers and sisters from these destructive systems, hand in hand, together. Jordan Wade interviews protestors in the Vancouver Juneteenth Freedom March to hear messages of unity, struggle, heartbreak, and how we can progress forward as a society. This Saturday, August 1st, 2020 there will be another freedom march. This time commemorating the abolishment of slavery in Canada.
