Yesterday we held our 1st public mass in a long while with 50 people in the church and a few near by - many watching live too! Thank you to Father Matthew, the Parish Leadership team and to our volunteer cleaning team for their assistance in making this possible in keeping us all safe and healthy, both physically and spiritually. Let us continue to pray for an end to COVID-19. And prepare our hearts for this new season in the church, Come Holy Spirit! #churchneverstops #alleluia #jesus @ St. Patrick's Parish Maple Ridge

To our parish & the greater community, As you may have heard, preparations are being made to reopen our church, in a limited way, so that we may celebrate the Sacred Liturgy in person. Although this is good news, we are all quite aware that the pandemic continues to present a serious health threat to members in our society and beyond. Our Provincial and Federal authorities have limited public gatherings to 50 people as of now, and have established requirements that ...need to be provided by any organization that is opening their doors to such gatherings. As Fr. Matthew mentioned, we will take on a slow-open procedure in order to best ensure the health safety of our parishioners. Our first Mass with a congregation will be next Sunday May 24, Ascension Sunday, at 9:00 am, where we will test out the prescribed guidelines that is required in order to host Masses with public congregations. After we are confident that we have met the guidelines, we will do our best to increase the number of Masses for future Sundays. Since there is a limit of 50, which includes Fr. Matthew, any lector, sacristan, choir, ushers and the congregation, there will be a need of a registration process to ensure adhering to this limit. If you wish to participate in the Sacred Liturgy in person and you meet the criteria that are mentioned in the comment below, there are 2 ways from which you can choose to register your name: phone the parish office: 604.463.7148 email [email protected] give names of all family members attending, parents and children Once a list is made, you will be contacted with a confirmation of the date and time of the Sunday Mass for which you are registered and the procedure you will need to follow in order to attend Mass safely. PLEASE KNOW: this registration list is strictly for Parish use, to confirm/manage number attendance, and will not be used in any other way. Please take some time to read the RCAV Guidelines provided for you in the link in the comments that have been put in place by the Archdiocese just to give you an idea of what is being required of the pastor, the parish leadership council, the congregation, to be able to offer and attend Mass in person. May God continue to bless you and your families now and always!
