A great video explaining A Fast for the Earth: Lent 2021. Thank you to 'The Bishop’s Committee on Creation Care'. Great work!
At the start of Lent join in "A Fast for the Earth". The need is great in many ways that are easily and often overlooked. Thanks to The Bishop Committee on Creation Care with the Diocese of Toronto, a program of impact and education has been developed not only for Christians but for anyone to participate in. This program is a great start that can have an impact by informing and bringing awareness as well as being a spark for change. This is not necessarily about food. By o...bserving an environmental fast and using the Diocese of Toronto’s resource, A Fast for the Earth: Lent 2021, we can learn to limit our impact on the environment and be better stewards of God’s creation. You have the power to ignore the need or act to make an impact. Team up with a friend...do it as a family...it's a great opportunity to stay connected. The resource for the fast is found here: https://www.toronto.anglican.ca//2/02/Lent-Fast-2021-2.pdf
Self-examination with the Renovaré Study (from the Latin meaning to renew): a small group book study led by Fr. Chris, that will have us examining different traditions within the Christian faith. The goal is to have a balanced practice by learning what is familiar and what is unfamiliar in our spiritual knowledge. A Spiritual Formation Workbook: Small Group Resources for Nurturing Christian Growth, published by HarperOne, will be needed as your workbook. Register through the office for this Zoom study being held throughout the season of Lent (accommodates up to 7 people): Mondays from 10-11:30 am., or on Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 pm. Let us not forget the sacrifices that were made for our privileges and freedoms. Thank you.
"Duet Suite for Organ and Piano" performed by Adam Parker and Kate Applegate. Back on March 6th of this year, Adam Parker and Kate Applegate performed this piece at our "St. Paul's Celebrates the Arts" fundraiser evening. With the pandemic causing us all so much depression and hardship, they thought it might be nice to record a "reprise" of the concert performance, and send it out to the people of St. Paul's - just to add a little variety and some beautiful music to our liv...es. We are so thankful that they did. "Duet Suite for Organ and Piano" has five movements: Introduction, Fughetta, Minuetto, Romance, and Final. The work was commissioned by the Edmonton Centre of the Royal Canadian College of Organists. The video was recorded at St. Paul's Newmarket on October 16th, 2020. The videographer apologizes for the video jitter during the first movement. Kate requested that she not be filmed during the performance.

We are so grateful for Bishop Fenty’s leadership and support over the years. Celebrating his upcoming retirement at our Thanksgiving service was a very fitting way to wish him well and offer our immense gratitude for all he has done for St. Paul’s. Congratulations and best wishes from our St. Paul’s family.
Remember your blessings even during challenging times. Give thanks, be grateful and remember those who are in need.
