Join the fight against #climatechange and become a climate leader! In partnership with UWaterloo's Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change (IC3) and the UW... Problem Lab, we are proud to announce a new initiative focused on discovering potential new solutions to problems related to climate change. The Climate Innovation Discovery Stream introduces students to climate-related issues and empowers them to discover and explore new solutions to help the world address the impending effects of climate change. Participants will work closely with University of Waterloo researchers and industry experts to identify potential solutions to global issues. The first-place team will be awarded $5,000 with the second-place team receiving $2,500 to help turn their climate change concepts into a reality. No previous experience or background knowledge is required to join! All students and postdocs who want to make an impact and be climate change leaders are invited and encouraged to participate. Congrats to Hannah Sennik from Rekammend which just won an Activate!Vaughan innovation challenge and secured $5000 in provincial grant! Hannah Sennik is a GreenHouse alumna who joined a Workplace Innovation team to help improve communication devices for KidsAbility having won funding from the University and other innovation challenges. Hannah just won the Activate!Vaughan innovation challenge ‘Breaking down Communication Barriers’ with Rekammend, an innovative Augmentative a...nd Alternative Communication software for individuals who face challenges communicating using verbal speech.
