If you need a cool craft/activity for this afternoon, here are some suggestions of how to make a musical instrument out of household items: - Use a pot and spoon, for drums - If you want to get creative you can make a guitar with some elastics and empty tissue box - Make your own drum with an empty tub and some wax paper... - A shaker with a paper tube and some rice Any thing that makes a noise is good, and dont forget to decorate! Our school is temporarily closed but class is still in session! Today we did our first virtual morning circle. The kids were extremely excited to see each other and the parents said this virtual circle was the highlight of their week! Art is a great way for children to express their feelings and experiences and helps children to connect. At St Philips art is extremely important to us. Here is an art activity that we do in our classroom that you can do at home while practicing social distancing. PAINTING ACTIVITIES Paint using different mediums. Instead of paper use tinfoil, paper towel, paper rolls, empty food boxes, newspaper and magazines! Paint with objects rather than brushes. You can use cars, ...animals, sponges, pinecones, cotton swabs, eye droppers, wall brushes, blown up balloons, or a fly swatters! Encourage your child to mix colours and materials to see how they transform. We love using ice cubes and a coloured powder!
