To all of you that are commenting negatively on the debate last night, whether it be for the Democrats or Republicans... did you not hear the intelligent question asked by the 8 grader at the end of the debate? If our leaders can’t get along how can we expect the citizens to get along. Both of them lied ... because both of them want to win. It’s that simple. Until that changes they will continue to have the type of politics that the US have. I don’t know the answer but I d...o know that if this type of negative rhetoric continues, the political divide will continue to exists. So to all my Canadian friends let’s do what we do best ... being kind. There is no value in insulting or mocking one side or the other because it just adds fuel to the fire and considering what they are currently going through, it does not help. It might feel good to virtue signal and get the likes but they are our neighbors and whether we like it or not, they have an effect on our way of life. It’s time to step out of your own echo chamber and start listening to other people’s perpective and have a conversation. Even if they are people you don’t entirely agree with. This is not meant to lecture but simply my opinion.

Hello everyone, Before I get started ... yes this a long post and as you know I don’t post often. So you know it’s worth reading. Yes I know we have been away for a long time, COVID put a bit of a damper on our little podcast and here’s why. ... Part of the reason we wanted to do a podcast was to have interesting personal conversations and for us that meant face to face. It just feels more natural, therefore when this wasn’t a possibility we put the podcast on hold. But now we are planning a comeback. We plan on bringing you some new episodes soon. Personally I’ve been listening and observing what is going on throughout the world today and I’m hoping that Straight from the Bend will stimulate future conversations amongst everyone, because we need MORE conversations. This is the only way these problems can ever possibly be resolved. Shutting down speech is not an option. So until we are back up and talking, I will post interesting conversations that I have come across about the topics that are running rampant in the world today. Listen then come to your own conclusions. You can even post a comment, but more importantly let’s keep the conversation going. Thank you!

We are thinking of those families that have lossed loved ones in this senseless act of violence. https://www.theglobeandmail.com//article-the-victims-of-/

Our podcast is still on a little hiatus due to this social distancing thing... but if I can recommend a podcast you should listen to ... Level Up with Mark Black is the one. Something to get our spirits up!
