FROM: Stratford Police Service DATE: July 24, 2019 RARE DESIGNER DRUG SEIZED BY STRATFORD POLICE ... On March 21, 2019 the Stratford Police Service concluded an investigation in which over $157 000 worth of illegal drugs were seized and several individuals were arrested. As part of the investigation, the Stratford Police sent the seized drugs to Health Canada, Drug Analysis Service, for analysis. On July 22, 2019 a report from Health Canada was received by the Stratford Police, which indicated that a substance known as Eutylone was discovered within the seized drugs. As part of a harm-reduction measure, the Stratford Police would like to notify the public of this seizure as it is likely that individuals may be unaware that they are consuming this substance; and this substance is so rare that limited information is available on its safety. The items seized in this investigation were in the form of blue pills, however; Eutylone is also commonly found as being a white or brown crystal-like powder. Eutylone is known as a synthetic cathinone, which is more commonly known as bath salts, and is typically found being sold as Ecstacy/MDMA, and other similar designer drugs. Synthetic cathinones are mind-altering substances with strong stimulant effects, known to stimulate the bodys central nervous system. Adverse side-effects can include the following: - Death - Irregular or a very fast heart beat - Cardiac arrest - Hyperthermia (over-heating of the body) - Excessive sweating - Dehydration - A breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue into the bloodstream - Kidney failure - Extreme agitation leading to violent tendencies - Long-term brain damage - Visual hallucinations - Confusion - Disconnected/Inconsistent speech - Irritation of mucous membranes - A compulsive desire to take more of the drug The possession of Eutylone is an offence under Canadas Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and as observed by the adverse effects, it can be an extremely dangerous substance to consume. The public is being asked to be aware of the presence of this drug within our community, and is specifically being asked to report any suspected use of Eutylone. If you, or someone you know, are suspected of consuming Eutylone, it is important to get medical attention immediately. Please use harm-reduction practices when using any illegal substance and call 911 right away should you suspect a problem.

Addicts who are active , I really hope you can listen to this song and kno it's for you. Somehow we forget this and we also forget to love ourselves ( most important ) 1 st and foremost . Deep down we kno this, but life throws many traumas our way until we feel unloved , unloveable and only substances ease that pain . I am asking you to feed that little spark of love you have left, put a 100% effort into abstinace of substances and use your energy to heal quickly ( self l...ove ) everyday for as long as it takes . It will heal you, others will see your efforts and support you in recovery until one day, you can smile at yourself in the mirror and realize you deserve Love too. R.I.P addictions. I've decided to live a different way now, the opposite way , it starts by forgiving myself and others, researching what brings love to myself, and pouring every ounce of energy I have towards it.Now I live in the moment, and light is everywhere, no more darkness. My friend spooks took this pic of me , he's deceased, now up there working for us. I am down here doing my best to help others who struggle , just like I do . There's some good people on this team , good energy , this is going forward :)

Recovery and fitness to me go hand in hand .New people places and things all add up to new behavors and if you are @ the ymca chances are it's a proactive benefit for your new healthy lifestyle. Choices for change is now taking some of their clients to the ymca to find what resonates with them ( fitness classes) strength training , Zumba class . there's a good variety to choose from , then they pick which ones they enjoy the most. I have been asked to help teach classes for this venture and I am very glad to do so. Yoga is mainly what helps me keep my addictions at bay and I am more than happy to help others find what can help them with theirs.

Bingo ,,, mental health is the key, addictions are a symptom of mental health, just like sneezeing is a symptom of a cold.

That's how it started with me , alcohol @ 13 yrs old, then weed, then both, then whatever was stronger than that and available. My goal in life wasn't to be a alcoholic and addict, but it happened anyway. Recoverey is the only way out to live a better life. Detox is the 1 st step forward.

He didn't want to go meetings with me, He just wanted to go somewhere close to help him detox and get stable . He fed the ferrel cats in the neighbourhood that was his only worry leaving them to go get clean. He said if there was a Centre here he would be the 1 st one in the door to use it, and he was very proud of me for trying to make that happen. I couldn't watch him destroy himself anymore in front of me and I told him that as I walked away one day . 2 weeks later he ...was dead, overdosed. Shock , denial , anger, grief , shame and guilt I felt them all after that funeral. That energy can be changed to determination with empathy , and it has. I am going to help this community the best way I can now with this project, and I am going to need some like minded helpers. To those who have has experienced loss from addictions, let's do this .
