Some more projects completed this month. The metal headboard had been stripped of its paint before arriving at the shop. A semi gloss white was then sprayed onto it. Several light coats of paint later it turned out awesome. The pine door and trim job was light spot sanded and finished in multiple coats of finish. There were 15 man doors and several hundred running feet of trim. The client selected a no stain clear finish on the pine as they want to see the wood age naturally. The clients project consisted of a diningroom table with 3 leaves, a 2 piece China cabinet, 2 end tables,10 chairs and a kitchen harvest table. A complete colour change from a golden oak to this custom colour. Everything was disassembled, stripped, sanded, glued, stained and refinished. The clients were happy with the finished results! It was her mother's and my client want to give the table an updated colour but not lose the antiqued charm of the approx 35 year old table. Some more before and after photos of 2 more restoration projects recently completed our shop. One is a mahogany and walnut with a birch stretcher based coffee table. The other is a red pine double arched window frame into a mirror. The coffee table had its old stain and finish removed, repaired what needed to be, sanded stained cinnamon stick and finished. The pine window frame had been refinished already but our client wanted to update the look to a more rustic country feel.... The frame had its old finish removed, sanded and had minwax dark walnut stain applied and then finished. The mirrors were then re-installed as well as the hanging hardware. Before and after pictures of a diningroom table and chairs restored and refinished this week in the shop. The set was made in Stratford at the Imperial Furniture Company probably in the late 1950's early 1960's. Stained a darker Rodeo stain over the soft maple/birch wood mix it turned out awesome! Photos of 2 matching antique pine entrance doors that were stripped of 4 coats of paint, repaired, sanded, stained minwax golden oak and finished with 4 coats of finish. They are being repurposed in a kitchen renovation as double pantry doors. Beth and Mike Kaufman of Tavistock were thrilled with the results. We offer Custom sanding, staining and finishing services for all your wood trim and doors. We have always provided this service as part of our restoration and refinishing business, but are going to start promoting it more as demand is increasing.
