A very special day for our Founder and inspiration Eleanor McMahon. Yesterday was a very special one. A very touching tribute to a wonderful man, and his legacy as we gathered in Orillia in front of the new Detachment to attend the unveiling of the Sgt. Greg Stobbart Multi Use Trail. Grateful to the Commissioner of the OPP Thomas Carrique and Mayor Steve Clark who collaborated to make this happen. Honoured that my family and Greg’s attended: Greg’s daughter Christina Garrioc...k Owen and Carter were there, together with Greg’s sister Catherine Stobbart and her children Matthew Radford and Stacey Radford My Mum Marie as well as Sue Sheldon Ed McMahon and Aidan McMahon were there along with special friends Janet O'Connell and Eda Gebuza. A special thanks to S/Sgt Brett Carson and Sgt Steve Martell for attending, for your friendship and support and Brett for helping us change and strengthen the law of Ontario. Covid meant that we were fewer in number, but our hearts were full. A huge thanks to everyone who came, and who travelled a long way to join us. Greg’s death was a galvanizing moment. It inspired us - and so many people from across Ontario to do many important and lasting things: 3 changes to the Highway Traffic Act, $125 M in cycling infrastructure, a Coroners Review into cycling deaths in Ontario, the first Provincial Cycling Strategy in Ontario in 20 years - ands we did this together. This lasting tribute honours the man he was, the impact of Greg’s loss, as well as everyone who has helped us to continue to make a difference. Thank you all. Eleanor

Flex Bollards are an inexpensive, effective tool to improve road safety. They protect bike lanes, narrow turn lanes and harden centrelines. Connect with #OBS2020 Sponsor Develotech at the summit https://buff.ly/2Qixpqw, or check out their website!
