Another sweet, cost effective winter setup. 18x9 +0 Ion Alloys, @general_tire Grabber Arctic, all for basically the same money as steelies and offshore tires. Looking and performing good! ***Powdercoating Schedule Update*** we are currently running a week and half turn around. This may change moving forward as we get busier ahead of the spring busy season.

It’s not all wooden skids and pretty pictures. Some wheels take a little extra coaxing to give up the great pictures to post. These AMG wheels were heavily corroded. They each get a coat of high build powder coat primer, sanded flat inside and out, then another if needed to fill in the low spots. A lot of time and effort just to get a surface suitable for a top coat. This is something that can’t be achieved simply by working with the aluminum itself (without a lot of welding), and is a common misconception among coaters that this primer can simply be laid down in layers and left. If there’s too much powder, logos can be lost, and longevity/integrity of the coating will be compromised.

Lee wanted to spruce up his 135’s winter setup - we coated his wheels in a special Gunmetal with a Flat Clear to give it the look he was after, provided some @falkentire winter tires, and professionally mounted and balanced the package for him!

We strongly encourage, no, we REQUEST you bring your best friends in for pets and adoration. These are the rules. We don’t make them up.

This room has been filling and emptying daily. It’s been tough to keep up with content while we’ve been so busy. Going to be a long night of mounting and balancing. These 4Runner wheels (that are going to be winters for a SWEET TRD Pro) had some serious hammer marks on the face. Serious enough that I actually quoted the customer on welding them up and smoothing them to make right. I wasn’t confident they could be sanded out without noticeably changing the shape of the spoke - I was wrong. A few different sizes and grits later, they’re good enough that the primer to seal them against corrosion will fill in the tiny divots left over. 12+ years at it, and still trying and learning new things!
