Stroke Recovery Association of BC (Sunshine Coast Branch) 09.12.2020

Important message from SRABC Head Office: "Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, observing an abundance of caution, we have reached the difficult decision to suspend all community-based programming until further notice. Our priority is the safety of our participants, coordinators and volunteers. ... Programs affected include: - Weekly stroke recovery programs (branches) - The Surrey Centre of Excellence Workshop series - Next Steps programs - PERK programs held separately from Branch programs - Supported conversation groups held separately from Branch programs - Walk N Roll events - TALK (program at Shaughnessy United Church) - Young Stroke Survivors In Person group - Volunteer-led peer support groups - Peers Fostering Hope hospital visitation programs" This means that our weekly sessions at the Sunshine Coast branch (St. Hilda's in Sechelt) have been cancelled until further notice. I will still be available to speak with people on the phone if stroke survivors in the community need to contact me. Michael McLeod SRABC Branch Coordinator Sunshine Coast Branch

Yes, we have made soap a few times, and I think we're getting pretty good at it! Another soap making session coming up soon, and we're always doing something fun every Friday, at the main hall at St Hilda's in Sechelt. All stroke survivors and family/caregivers are welcome to join us for support, activities and exercise, 10am to 12pm.

Unfortunately due to dangerous road conditions here on the coast again this morning, we are cancelling today's session. If mother nature plays nice next week, we will see everyone then. Be safe out there!
