During this Advent I hope we can all focus on praying for and doing something to heal this amazing earth that God entrusted to us.

Update: we are only 60.00 away from what we had last year for 30 bags, we really would like to do 40 or 50 but it’s great that we are almost there for 30!! Tha...nks to those who have already donated!! Men’s bags for St.George’s Kitchen dec 2020, these pictures are from last year, please can you help with a donation this year? For the past few years we have been able to secure a couple corporate donors, this year we were not as fortunate. We do these bags with toiletries and snacks and necessities for the homeless men of Halifax. Our church also makes up purses filled with the same for the homeless woman, I fear if we don’t get some donations that the men will go without this year. If you can donate to this cause please DM me. Tax receipts available for donations of 20.00 and over! Thanks so much!

The world now is too dangerous and too beautiful for anything but love. May your eyes be so blessed you see God in everyone. Your ears, so you hear the cry of the poor.... May your hands be so blessed that everything you touch is a sacrament. Your lips, so you speak nothing but the truth with love. May your feet be so blessed you run to those who need you. And may your heart be so opened, so set on fire, that your love, your love, changes everything. From the Black Rock (Scotland) Prayer Book

Advent Prayer for a Motley Crew Gracious God, as we journey toward the manger, help us remember to pray; ... for the shepherds who watch over us and tend to our needs, for the angels who remind us, "Do not be afraid," for the magi who bear gifts and wisdom from afar, for the Josephs who risk everything to show love, for the Marys who deliver God's love in unexpected places. We give thanks for this motley crew gathered around the manger; called to see God's love made flesh. We humbly acknowledge that we are this motley crew gathered around today's manger; called to be God's love made flesh. May we have eyes to see and the heart to be. Amen. ALL SOULS' DAY Merciful Father, On this day, we are called to remember those who have died,... Particularly those who have died in the past year, And pray for their joyful reunion with you, their loving creator. As your son taught us to call the stranger neighbour, our fallen are many Names we will never know, Voices we have never heard, In lands we may never visit, Yet brothers and sisters all. And so we pray. For victims of war, caught in the crossfires of conflicts we could not quell, for soldiers and civilians, adults and children, we pray Grant eternal rest, O Lord. For those migrants who have died seeking a haven where they hoped to find safety and opportunity for themselves and for their families, we pray Grant eternal rest, O Lord. For victims of hunger, denied their share in the bounty you have placed before us, we pray Grant eternal rest, O Lord. For victims of Covid-19, AIDS, Malaria, Ebola, and other infectious diseases, who died before adequate care could reach them, we pray Grant eternal rest, O Lord. For those refugees seeking asylum from war, who died in a land that was not their home, we pray Grant eternal rest, O Lord. For victims of emergencies and calamities everywhere, who died amid chaos and confusion, we pray Grant eternal rest, O Lord. For victims of crime, gangsterism and domestic violence, who died in fear and pain Grant eternal rest , oh Lord Lord, as you command, we reach out to the fallen. We call on you on behalf of those we could not reach this year. You raised your son from the dead that all may share in his joyful resurrection. In Jesus’ name, we pray Rest eternal grant them , Lord And light perpetual shine on them. May they rest in peace. Amen. (adapted from Genevieve Jordan Laskey) Artist -Arte Carde from Puerto Rico
