A joyous Feast of Christ the King! https://youtu.be/92rtvYYL1yk Christ is the King! O friends, rejoice;... brothers and sisters, with one voice Let the world know he is your choice. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! 2. Oh magnify the Lord, and raise Anthems of joy and holy praise For Christ's brave saints of ancient days. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! 3. They with a faith forever new Followed the King, and round him drew Thousands of faithful servants true. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! 4. O Christian women, Christian men, All the world over, seek again The way disciples followed then. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! 5. Christ through all ages is the same: Place the same hope in his great name, With the same faith his word proclaim. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! 6. Let love's unconquerable might Your scattered companies unite In service to the Lord of light. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! 7. So shall God's will on earth be done, New lamps be lit, new tasks begun, And the whole church at last be one. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah!

On the Eve of the Feast of Christ the King, a poem by Malcolm Guite which reflects on tomorrow’s Gospel from St Matthew 25:31-46. Our King is calling from the hungry furrows Whilst we are cruising through the aisles of plenty, Our hoardings screen us from the man of sorrows,... Our soundtracks drown his murmur: ‘I am thirsty’. He stands in line to sign in as a stranger And seek a welcome from the world he made, We see him only as a threat, a danger, He asks for clothes, we strip-search him instead. And if he should fall sick then we take care That he does not infect our private health, We lock him in the prisons of our fear Lest he unlock the prison of our wealth. But still on Sunday we shall stand and sing The praises of our hidden Lord and King. See more

Why Christians Can Celebrate Halloween There is a reason we don’t see children dressing up as Jesus on Halloween. If they did, it would raise eyebrows. Something about it would smack of irreverence, mockery, or even blasphemy. When we blatantly dress up like someone and imitate them, praise and adulation is usually not the intended result. We know very well that when Alec Baldwin imitates Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live, he is not intending a glowing endorsement. It ...Continue reading

Notice all of the blue tarps on damaged homes from previous hurricanes last month. Now Hurricane Delta is bearing down on Louisiana bringing possible serious de...struction again. Please join me in praying for the people in the path of this storm as they brace for what is coming in the next 24 hours. "Almighty God, by the power of your Word you laid the foundations of the earth, set the boundaries of the sea, and still the wind and the waves. Surround the people of the Gulf coast with your grace and peace, and preserve them through this storm. By your Spirit, lift up those who have fallen, strengthen those who work to rescue or rebuild, and and fill them with the hope of your new creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Blessed Feast Beloved! As of Evening Prayer this evening, it is the Feast of Holy Michael and All Angels (Sept. 29). This Holy Day celebrates the power Christ exercised through the victory of the Archangel Michael over Satan, and it also commemorates all angels, the spirit-messengers of God. Historically St. Michael's Day was a very significant festival as it was one of the English quarter days, beginning a new season of the year. Commonly called Michaelmas (Michael’s Ma...ss), traditional foods for this day include roast goose, apples, and blackberries. English folklore says that blackberries should not be picked after Michaelmas Day. It is said that when St. Michael cast Lucifer out of heaven, he landed in a blackberry bush. Satan cursed and befouled the berries, making them unfit for eating after September 29. The table is traditionally decked with Michaelmas daisies. If you are able, I invite you to join us for the festal Eucharist here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6d-MBe-Agg Happy St. Michael's Day, Grady+
