An important message from our Medicine Hat College President, Kevin Shufflebotham!! Dear students, Protecting the health and safety of our communities remains our top priority during the COVID-19 pandemic. As cases continue to rise in our region, MHC has made the decision to implement a mandatory mask environment on campus. Effective Wednesday, Nov. 25, MHC will require all individuals on campus in Medicine Hat or Brooks to wear a mask in common areas including hallways, wa...shrooms, elevators, study spaces, and any other area where a distance of 2m cannot be maintained. Masks may only be removed: In a classroom, lab, or meeting room once seated and 2m of distance is maintained. In an office or workspace if alone, or if appropriate barriers are in place. While eating, drinking, or exercising in the fitness centre. Disposable masks will be available for those who arrive without one, but we ask everyone to come prepared when working or learning on campus. It is recognized this change in operations will be met with mixed feelings, however, Medicine Hat College is committed to doing what it can to create a safe environment for those who need to be on campus. We appreciate your understanding and ask for your continued respect and consideration of these efforts and of each other. If you have any questions, please contact our OH&S manager, Lesley Tuchscherer . Kevin Shufflebotham President & CEO Medicine Hat College See more

Students, the women’s shelter is running an online virtual Pet Walk in support of Family Violence Prevention Month Its never too late to sign up! Participating is super easy - register at www.worldwalking.org and join their group "Pet Walk Across Alberta for Family Violence Prevention Month." (https://worldwalking.org/groups/19hyf) You can even track/add your steps through the free World Walking App. Why a pet walk? Pets are family. People often delay leaving abu...sive situations out of worry for their pets' safety. It's why we've built a partnership, so the Medicine Hat SPCA can help provide temporary shelter to pets if their people are accessing MHWSS Shelter/services. #familyviolencepreventionmonth See more
