Fantastic Friday News! $500 Million to Arts and Culture! Well post details from the presser and as information unfolds.

Prince George & District Community Arts Council 05.08.2020

Media Release: May 21st 2020 Studio Fair has been a beloved signature arts and cultural event in our community for 44 years, bringing people from all walks of life into the Prince George downtown core for a multi-day extravaganza of visual arts and... artisan excellence. Local art guilds and community groups along with artisans from all over the country have built Studio Fair into a highly respected and sought-after event. Last year, over 12,000 people attend the three-day event, and through their attendance, generously supported local and regional arts groups. Studio Fair is also the major annual fundraiser for the Prince George & District Community Arts Council/Studio 2880 (CAC), as well as the largest artisan show of its kind in Northern BC. Regretfully, due to the current health crisis, the CAC has made the decision to not proceed with the show this year. Current regulations prohibit large public gatherings and events, and our organization wishes to highlight the importance of community groups and businesses prioritizing public health as being foundational to planning programs and events this year. As an alternative to the live event, the CAC is currently exploring opportunities to create a Studio Fair online marketplace and will be assessing needs and viability, as well as opportunities for partnerships in this initiative, over the coming weeks. We are excited to look at returning in 2021 from November 5th to 7th, celebrating once again the amazing creativity in our community, region, province and country.

Configuring new virtual classes with lighting speed. I had been in a grove with in person classes, and then online classes and then tossed right into virtual l...ive classes. In person classes I can see everyones progress point easily, and reach over to help them with my own brush. Online classes, I edit to perfection, which takes time and is a lot of work but people can play at their leisure, and some actually paint the image but most dont, and less immediate support options. Then theres virtual classes... live, you actually paint along, and get to see me make and fix mistakes and engage if you like, from the comfort of your home. 3 very different platforms. What an adventure this is. Tomorrow Ill be releasing these ones....the family ones will have a nice reduced rate for your crew at home. See more
