Just because I love to compare before & after photos... Notice the clean lines of double wall stove pipe. What a difference! The soap stone stove is my personal favourite.
Still love the looks of these small but powerful Valor heaters. This one is a President, with a coal-looking fireplace. The couple hail from England, and wanted the old home feel. This little guy delivers in spades! Thanks Anita & Rick for allowing me to share.
A client of ours said to Stu, after he finished cleaning her fireplace - "I don't want summer to end, but BOY, I can't wait to light my wood stove again!" I know the feeling.... And then we sit, under the stars, watching the fire with friends, and life is so good.
Today marks the last day of July. One more full calendar month of summer ~ technically ~ and already the phones are ringing with voices fringed with frost. Because we all know what follows our beautiful summers...
On this day, Stu turns 62. Exactly half his life has been devouted to Stu's Stove Shoppe! 31 years of business. I can't be any prouder of this hard-working dude.
HAPPY CANADA DAY! So grateful to live in a land that is as beautiful as ours... and in such a lovely area on Lake Huron.
Love a creative (and very tidy!) wood pile. On Zion Rd, just south of Lucknow
A couple times of the year, I tag along with Stu on jobsites - but mainly to the Bruce Peninsula - the pull is strong for me. Today, we installed in the Hepworth area, and I "helped" of course. And here I found a treasure: the Hummingbird-Moth! I was blown away! The ride home was filled with beautiful peaceful scenes of stone fences, fields of sheep, weathered barns. My joy bubble instantly burst however, when we stopped at Tim's for our afternoon tea. I leaped from the throne with a howl of rage, as a big old bee stumbled off my behind! I've been cussing him ever since.
First rhubarb pie of the season! It’s been a cold, slow spring, so even though I’ve been checking diligently, nothing seemed ready for harvesting. Or so I thought! Whether you think you can, or think you can’t you are right, penned Henry Ford. I’ve always thought I had to wait til the rhubarb stalks were about 3’ long. But today, I harvested a few 9 pieces and smaller, and had the most amazing AHA moment. [ 67 more words ] https://icanmakeitthroughanything.wordpress.com//just-a-m/
O fun. I love the looks of a good wood pile - looks industrious, and is "gold in the bank". There are also creative ways of stacking it, as this web photo shows.
THAT KIND OF A DAY It’s gloomy, with a pending storm predicted for the out-like-a-lion March weekend. I’m painting a shiplap wall in the showroom. SHIPLAP!!... There is chicken baking in the shop’s kitchen. Yummy! Customers come and go, and they all comment on the lovely aromas. Shiplap walls are very lovely on the eyes. I’m thinking about my own house, and how to incorporate shiplap there. And I’m thinking about THE SALES EVENT we’ll be having next month. Because we are STILL celebrating our 30 years of being in business!
This, HETTY, is the reason why I am NOT allowed to lose ANY weight!
