Students, make sure to check out stu.ca/stusantas to help support student families during the upcoming holidays. It is truly such a great way to give back to the STU community! As a student, especially one with a family to take care of during a global pandemic, it is hard to cope with the extra finances that come up around the holidays. Through donations from faculty, staff and fellow STUdents, STU Santas offers financial assistance as well as gifts to help bridge that gap for student families. Donate, if you can, today!
STUdents!! We know it can get lonely sometimes, especially with the isolation that comes with COVID-19. So, given this, we came up with an interactive forum that all students can use! During the year, the Social Inclusion Representative as well as the STUSU Mental Health Committee will be asking questions or posting writing prompts about mental health; to encourage you to share your thoughts and connect with other students during these times! We would love it if you all could... join in on the conversation to end the stigma and fight loneliness. Most importantly, you can remain anonymous and choose to share how much you want to share. We can’t wait to read your posts! The link to the website can be found here: http://mybrainisbeautiful.com/?loggedout=true
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT As a result of Fredericton moving back into the Orange phase, the STUSU Help Desk will be closed effective immediately. We will reevaluate if Zone 3 returns to the Yellow Phase. Please continue to email [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

We continue to push for UNB to launch an investigation into the allegations against Dr. Bhargava and encourage students to request a transfer to another psychiatrist and/or cancel any standing appointments with him due to the risk he poses to our students as well as UNB students. St Thomas University stated that students who have already made appointments through the UNB Health Centre will be contacted by the UNB Health Centre or Horizon Health to make alternate arrangments b...ut, for those who have already cancelled, would like to act proactively, or are seeking mental health services, we have compiled mental health services in Fredericton that include psyciatric services. We acknowledge the new financial barrier associated with accessing mental health services off-campus and we would like to remind students that they can apply for the STUSU Emergency Bursary if they require financial assistance. The application can be found here: http://www.stusu.ca/s/Emergency-Bursary-Application-Final3d See more

The St. Thomas University Students’ Union wholeheartedly supports and stands in solidarity with our STUdent and alumni survivors. We have been actively listening and hearing your stories, and we believe you. We are appalled at the inaction of university administrations to support their students. St. Thomas University has a unique relationship with the University of New Brunswick Fredericton, one that allows us to share services and a campus. As a result of this relationship, ...Continue reading
