Here is what you need to know about how your policy is affected by name change from Great West Life to Canada Life. Great West Life has been a trusted insurance provider for many years. They are one of the 3 major Canadian life insurers under the Great West Lifeco umbrella. The other two Canadian life insurers are London Life, and Canada Life. 3 Insurers to become 1 Insurer... In 2018 Great West Lifeco decided to amalgamate all 3 insurers into one corporate entity and one branding name. The government recently officially approved the amalgamation. Great West Life London Life Canada Life now becomes: Canada Life effective January 1, 2020. If you have a policy with any of these three insurers, then your policy will now be part of the new Canada Life. What you need to know Your policy remains exactly the same as before. The same policy number and the same terms and conditions. Your current contact information remains exactly the same as before. If you are a group insurance plan member, your login and group plan information remains the same as before. What you will see when you login, is the new Canada Life name instead of the Great West Life name.
