A games table is a great addition to any basement and it doesn't need to take up a lot of space. after all, it's much easier to play games when you don't have a big table to reach across! Working with existing pieces is one of my favorite challenges when updating a space! In this case, my clients wished to keep the existing sofa and drapery and blinds in order to keep their budget under control. Because let’s face it, custom drapery can be expensive!! Especially when they are blackout like these were. Luckily, all these pieces where in great condition. So, that gave me a place to start. The challenge came from modernizing the dated drapery, minimizing the pred...ominate teal, and keeping the style light and airy. I choose to pull the light beige tones from the drapery with the paint. The sofa already coordinated with the chocolate brown stripe in the fabric so I continued that through when selecting other furniture pieces. And if you look really, really, REALLY close you can see there is a very faint soft moss green stripe. This was accented with the toss cushions. The beautiful thing about thin stripes on drapery is that once hung the colours just kind of blend together...if you let them. TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY! Giving a room a new look doesn't always mean spending a lot of money. This bedroom furniture was dated but still in great condition. So I selected a colour that matched the leather inserts of the bed and had all the furniture painted the same. The bedding was kept simple as to not fight with the stripe that is in the drapery, which we also kept....
