We have finally decided to open the tanning beds back up! We will be operating the 12 minute lay down and the stand up booth only. They will only be operating from 10am - 5pm Monday through Friday. Our rules will be as follows: A mask must be worn within the salon (please wear one upon arrival, or you may purchase one for $2) - they may be removed while tanning but must be worn in the common areas. Hands must be washed or sanitized upon arrival.... We will only be accepting one booking per hour per bed to allow for additional cleaning time. For now we are asking that all bookings be made online to keep our phone from ringing too much. You will be given two towels when you enter and they must be placed into the hamper outside of the tanning room door after your tan. You will be responsible to clean the bed after use prior to our staff cleaning it again a second time. Please only enter the salon ON TIME for your tan, not early and not late! We ask that you respect all of our social distancing rules within the salon. Do not bring anyone into the salon with you! See more

I’ll be in the salon today answering the phone from 10-7 and tomorrow 10-5! Anyone who’s been waiting to get an appointment can call during these times! I still have clients that I haven’t had a chance to contact yet, but I still have spots saved for you! There are a ton of new rules that have been set out for us by our provincial government that we must adhere to in order to open that will make your salon experience a little different than it used to be! A couple of things... that you will need to be aware of prior to your next salon visit: You will need to wear as mask for the entirety of your service. All service providers will be wearing a mask as well. Please only arrive within 5 minutes of your appointment time. If you have travelled outside of the province we ask that you DO NOT enter our establishment until after the 2 week quarantine period has ended. You will be asked how you are feeling upon arrival. If you are able, we ask that you please come alone. We are aiming to keep the number of people in the salon as low as possible! No walk ins at this time, by appointment only. At this time we are unable to see children under two as it is not safe for them to wear a mask. We are hoping this rule will be able to change soon! There will be hand sanitizer throughout the salon and we encourage you to use it. Please try not to bring any unnecessary belongings in with you. We would prefer that you do not bring food or drinks at this time. For nail appointments especially, we ask that you also try to avoid using your phone! _______________________________________________ We must schedule a substantial amount of additional time between clients for additional cleaning. This will make it much more difficult for us to see the amount of clients that we are usually able to see. Please make your appointments early. We have added a fee of $6 to all appointments for the time being to cover the costs of the additional PPE we must wear as well as the additional time that all appointments will require. If you arrive with your own mask, the fee will be lowered to $4. We have opted not to change our entire price list at this time which is why we chose to add this fee. We are hoping that the rules will relax in the coming weeks so we do not need to charge the fee at all. I just ask that you respect our decision in doing this, as it would not be feasible at this time for us to open otherwise! Anyone who cannot adhere to the new rules that we must follow will be asked to leave and reschedule for a better time. Trying times!! But we are so excited to get back to work! Hello friends! The official word came today that the mandatory closure of all salons and spas in Nova Scotia is finally coming to an end! A few very important things to note:... Although the official date that we are allowed to reopen is June 5th, we will NOT be seeing clients on this date as I intend to use the first few days to get ahold of our schedule! We will be opening our doors for our first appointments on Monday June 8th at 10AM. At this time I ask that you please do not contact your service provider directly for an appointment; my crew is still off work and I really do not want them to have to do any work until I am ready to get them back on the payroll. Let them enjoy this last week of freedom before we endure what I am expecting will probably be the most difficult task in our careers! That being said; we will be answering the phone solely to BEGIN booking appointments on Friday June 5th for the FOLLOWING week. Clients who were booked and had their appointments cancelled in the beginning of this mess will be contacted and scheduled first before we open up the phones to everyone else. I’ll be making another post soon once I receive my final guidelines for reopening from the government to let you know what to expect during your upcoming appointments! - I thank you SO much for all of your understanding through this difficult time. And I’ve gotta say, I’m pretty proud of how all of you Nova Scotians have handled these last few months of social distancing like pros! Ya’ll are rockstars! xoJill

A little mini update! We have been busy calling/texting/facebooking everyone who has an appointment booked over the next few weeks. There are a couple that we haven’t been able to get ahold of. If you see this status and haven’t heard from us- please shoot us a message so we know that you are aware that we are closed. We have no idea how long we will be closed for, this is out of our control and we are terribly sorry.... We plan to put in some big days to accommodate everyone when we can get back to work! Please stay home and take care of yourselves - the sooner we can put a stop to this whole thing, the sooner we can get back to work. PLEASE, and I cannot STRESS THIS ENOUGH, do not attempt to do your own hair, nails or lashes! We will have to charge accordingly to fix any messes that ya’ll create for us! If you are in a panic, shoot us(or your preferred service provider) a message and we will try to offer you advice to get you through this difficult time! Also, for those of you who ignore that last part - I was at the pharmacy a few days ago watching someone pick up all the boxes of hair color(obviously confused because I could tell she goes to a professional) - so keep in mind how many fingers are going on those boxes! Well, we have received the official word that all salons/spas/barbershops across Nova Scotia are to close as of midnight tomorrow. These are difficult times for all of us as Nova Scotians, but we will rest easy knowing your hair will be growing in our absence and we can’t wait to make the announcement to let you know when we’re back at ‘er! I ask that everyone please respects this major decision chosen for us by our government and PLEASE abide by the social distancing rules s...o we can slow/stop the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. The sooner this is under control, the sooner all of your friends and family can get back to work. The longer it goes on, the more drastic of a toll this will take on everyone. Our town, our province and our country. Anyone with upcoming appointments over the next two weeks will be contacted tomorrow. We ask that you don’t call us asking for answers as we have a ton of work ahead of us with rescheduling appointments. I have been waiting to make this post, but today is the day! We will be taking safety measures to protect the staff of Styles Unlimited, our loyal clients as well as all of these people’s families and friends in the wake of the Corvid-19 coronavirus. We are asking our clients who have travelled outside of the province within the last two weeks, that you please call us at your earliest convenience to reschedule your appointment. This also applies to anyone showing symptoms of ...respiratory illness. We clean our tools and work spaces constantly, we use medical grade disinfectants on more surfaces than are even required, we have extensive training in infection control and we wash our hands all day long - However, we are all still breathing the same air! If you come sit in my chair for a haircut and I come in contact with a virus- I have a lot more clients to see before I am aware that I am sick. I do not want to cause any spread of this virus, nor do I desire any of my staff contracting it. This applies to all services within Styles unlimited, including hair, esthetics and tanning services. For the safety of the public I ask that everyone please abides by these rules until we can see this thing through. Your appointment can wait a couple of weeks!
