White Pine is a beautiful tree but is highly susceptible to blister rust, which creates cankers on the tree's branches and stems and leads to a high rate of mortality. Tree nurseries have been working hard to develop disease resistant strains for re-planting. We recently surveyed next to a research trial area that had natural stock, as well as stock that was improved to be disease resistant. Pretty amazed at how the resistant stock was doing so well while the natural stock had >50% mortality, which was very obvious from the drone.

As a company, we captured around 145,000 photos total in 2020. It's always hard to decide which photo is the very best, but this wetland photo taken near Clearwater is definitely one of our favourites. Here's to hoping 2021 is a great year for everyone! Happy New Year!
