Subtle Details

Week 2 of the 2021 Polymer Clay Challenge Attempting to refine an idea and build my new "gallery" line. My favourites thus far...the wider rectangular earring and pendant, which next week I think I will make again in the narrower width, INCLUDING the stems.

Week 1 of the 2021 Polymer Clay Challenge 1 new project started and completed in a week for 52 weeks. Can I keep? IDK, but I'll try!

Finally finished!

We'll, what do you think? I think I'm satisfied, and will be baking this one shortly. I'm anxious to take a proper picture of it so I can include it in my calendar this year (yes, I'm always late with ordering it, and as it's only for my own use, I suppose I can live with that). 2020 saw so few original sculptures made, with a smattering of custom orders, that I was unable to fill the 12 months with a new piece for each page. My 2021 (calendar) will be filled with the few I did make, and some of my all time favourites. So be it. I'm determined to be better inspired and more productive over the coming 12 months!

#deconstructing my old #lug #bag for parts. What exactly I'll make with it IDK, but I'm thinking of a new #messengerbag with the primary purpose of carrying my... water bottle. Or dare I say it, maybe even a #fannypack?!!! One thing's for sure, I'll be using this piece of print on iron transfer design that was a failed first attempt at printed mask fabric (it's kinda waxy, definitely not breathable). It's one of my favourite #polymerclaysculpture designs of late (the original is 3.5", 10" sq framed, available for purchase @meta4gallery in #portperry #ontario). It's worth noting that I've had this Lug for over 10 years, and it's only just now that I've been ready to admit that it's finally given up on me. See more

#done! Well, not exactly, as I still need to mount to the mat board, sign, photograph, and frame. This time I decided to layer the stems over some of the #flow...ers (normally I just pretend like all the pretty flower heads are proud of ALL the stems...but hey, something new). I also opted for rigid, right angle stems without leaves.
