Just want to say a big thanks to all of the people who have reached out to me since my last post, offering suggestions and recommendations, but more, love and support. I'm really fine, not looking for anything, I'm just sharing my journey. What I've learned. My point of view. If you like it, feel free to follow along. If you don't, please ignore. If you have something you'd like to share, feel free, but this is not an invitation to anything other than conversation. No debate, no politics, just a look at life, what it has been, what it could be, what it is now. Thanks for walking along beside me, being part of my community and enjoying the flight!

So, here am I, getting back to basics. In some ways. It's a gradual transition, because it's like learning how to live all over again. Like most people, I have been constantly reinventing myself over and over again - which is really (to me) another way of saying I've been exploring different aspects of life and of me, or maybe it's more about "finding myself", or maybe just growing and learning, or maybe.... What are you reading? The link to this article hit my mailbox (thanks to a subscription to the e-mag as a gift from Steve for my birthday last year) at about the same time as the email from Amazon Audible reminding me that I have three book credits. Since I just finished listening to "A Whole New Mind" by Daniel Pink, and am working my way through "Talking to Strangers" by Malcom Gladwell and "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield, I think I will get "The Happiness Equation" and "The Book of Awesome" by this article's author, Neil Pasricha. January 1, 2021. Back to basics. Each year on the first day, people set "New Year's Resolutions", which last for varying lengths of time, anywhere from 1 day to a couple of months. I used to do that too, but then I discovered I was more successful at making changes in my life by setting targets or goals, and then determining how changing my behaviour could help me reach those goals. But then, that stopped working too. The past year has been tough on everyone, and I'm no...Continue reading

"Believe in yourself.. trust your instincts and listen to your gut". How often we hear that, and how often we misunderstand what it even means. We forget how to even listen to others, let alone our own instincts, our own gut. I'm learning. Slowly. I'm realizing how many important lessons I was given by my grandparents and parents, and because it all sounded like "old people" stuff, I turned it off. Because it all just sounded like a lot of cliche, I dismissed it. But I'm learning. Learning to look beneath the surface. Learning to trust nature, my gut, my instinct. And all of that means I need to turn off the noise. And listen. What are the things that are really important? And why?
