I want to share something I learned from working with Jessica Schaub and not every diver may know. In BC we have 2 types of moonjellies. Aurelia aurelia and Aurelia labiata. The latter is the most commonly encountered one. It has twelve lobes around the rim of the bell instead of 8. They get quite big and two days ago on a test dive of the dock I saw the biggest one yet. Solo under a dock with a horde of sea lions hunting the mating squid. Got bumped but never saw the culprit. Difficult filming in the mixing layer of fresh and salt water. Lots of fun , little sleep :) Pink atrrow points to egg case the female carries.
