Did you know that the B.C. Government's Small and Medium Sized Business Recovery Grant program provides fully funded grants to businesses to ensure they have the support they need during and beyond COVID-19? How the program works is that grants of $10,000 to $30,000 are made available to small and medium sized B.C. businesses impacted by COVID-19. Additional $5,000 to $15,000 grants are available to eligible tourism-related businesses. The program runs until March 31, 2021.... If your business has been affected by the pandemic and is located in B.C., reach out and see if you qualify. Financial support is there, all you need to do is ask. This Remembrance Day, we unite as Canadians to reflect on the sacrifices our brave women and men in uniform have given for this country. We must never forget the difficult battles won in our past, but also recognize the ongoing work of our soldiers, sailors and aviators of all heritages - serving at home and abroad today. Our servicemen and women put their lives on the line every day for Canadian values. You represent the very best of what it means to be a Canadian. To those who have served and serve today, thank you for your sacrifice and for your service. Lest we forget.

Dear Friends, We hope that this newsletter finds you healthy and in good spirits. Since our organization began more than 47 years ago, one of our primary goals at S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has been to help newcomers gain employment to better their lives and strengthen our communities. While many newcomers arrive in Canada educated and skilled in their profession of choice, they often find gaining employment in the Canadian job market a challenging hurdle to cross. A main reason for them... being denied employment opportunities is often attributed to a lack of Canadian work experience. In 2019, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. created the Active Career Connect and Engagement Project (ACCEP) for the purpose of assisting skilled immigrants so that they may find desirable, paid employment within Ontario and British Columbia. The program also assists Canadian employers with staff recruitment by offering assurances that ACCEP candidates are qualified in their profession, and are prepared to meet the respective job requirements and expectations of the employer and to work as a Canadian. ACCEP is federally funded by Employment and Social Development Canada, and as part of an employer's consideration of ACCEP clients, ACCEP offers wage subsidies to employers for hiring these qualified immigrants. Employers ranging from Canadian national banks to global marketing firms to regional and local engineering and information technology companies have participated in ACCEP since the program began. Many ACCEP candidates come to this program having achieved advanced degrees, and often with significant work experience in their home country. ACCEP participants meet with Canadian job coaches to learn interview tips, attend virtual employer best practice training sessions, as well as learn about Canada's support of diversity and inclusion in our workplace. To qualify for S.U.C.C.E.S.S. ACCEP, candidates must be an immigrant residing in Ontario or British Columbia. If your organization would like to become a business mentor or future employer for ACCEP candidates, or if you are a newcomer interested in obtaining paid workplace training, we invite you to speak with one of our ACCEP advisors to learn more about what you can do to help. For more information, please email -@... Our thanks to Employment and Social Development Canada for their support of both newcomers and to Canadian employers. Special thanks as well to all of our business coaches and community supporters in Ontario and BC for their time and resource investment into developing the ACCEP into such a successful program. In closing, as we enter these upcoming fall and winter months, please accept my warm wishes for you and your loved ones to stay safe and healthy. Thank you again for all of your support to S.U.C.C.E.S.S., and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Best Regards, Queenie Choo, CEO S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
