The Immigrant Women Entrepreneurship Program (IWEP) was implemented as a part of the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) of the federal government to help alleviate service gaps for women entrepreneurs and to advance women's economic empowerment. IWEP is delivered by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and funded by Western Economic Diversification Canada. Both are committed to ensuring that women across Canada have the supports they need to start or grow a business. IWEP is specifically tailored to serve immigrant and visible minority women, a diverse group that is often underrepresented because their voices are drowned out by language and cultural barriers, as well as, systemic issues, among others.
