It's Chevy Chases birthday today. We met him in Hollywood at the unveiling of Ron's blues brothers painting. His personality is exactly like you see him. He is lots of fun and very friendly.

It is National Fire Prevention Week and October 9 commemorates the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Did you know in 1849 Windsor had a "Great Fire". It started on the corner of Ouellette and Pitt St. and when it was over 100 buildings were lost. Thanks to Detroit they brought their pumper a over by barge and helped fight the blaze as Windsor was just a "bucket brigade".

All my art is a piece of my soul. I do have favorites for their colour palette or openness of the scene, like Evolution of a Dream. Then there is the fun I had with the Blues Brothers and House of the Rising Sun. Do you have a favorite? Id love to hear what it does for you.

It's OK to not be OK! It is National Suicide prevention month. There is a sigma around mental illness. Many creatives battle this illness. Robin Williams was a perfect example and he was brilliant. Lets change our way of thinking so folks can ask for help without being judged.

Here is a before and after pic of an old watercolour that a customer brought in. Get your old pieces off those acidy backboards. They will be ruined and worth nothing, besides it a great excuse to reframe and update your favorite artworks.

TBT - Ron and Tito Puente Jr in Suchiu Art Tams. Tito's father wrote the famous "Oye Como Va" that Santana later made into a hit in 1970. Tito Jr is a fabulous Latin musician, percussionist and Son of the Latin Jazz royalty Tito Puente, not to mention just a real nice guy.

Thought I'd share this pic that Colleen took in our backyard.

Did you know that Ron has a hobby? He flies RC-radio controlled airplanes. He has been doing this since 1976! He builds them from scratch and loves to weather and paint them. These planes are huge 5th scale. Colleen took this shot of one of his favorites as he was landing.

TBT-Eric Burdon, Ron Suchiu and Mitch Ryder. This is the year Ron did "House of The Rising Sun". Eric was playing at the Blues Fest. He hid out for the day with Ron at his studio. They ate egg salad sandwiches, talked guitars and Eric told stories about his friend Jimmy Hendrix.

Thought Id share this framing collage I created for my moms 80th birthday. She took it with her when she moved into an assisted living home. It was a great way for her to tell her caregivers about her life and family as I made it like a family tree with pictures and documents.

We are still cleaning up after the video shoot we had on the weekend. It will take Jacob Skrzypa about 3 weeks to edit the hours of film to get it down into 1 - 3 minutes. Thanks everyone, it was such a pleasure and you all made it easy for me to tell my stories.

Change your thoughts and you change your world. Even garbage can be a work of art! Someone was throwing out all these chairs. I made Ron stop the car so I could take some pics. The stories these chairs could tell us if they could talk! Tell us what story came to your mind.

Its not how much we have, but how much we enjoy that make happiness. Just thought I would share a pic Colleen took of our backyard. It is hard to leave here some mornings but great to get home to. (Point Pelee is in the background)
