Practicing good dental hygiene and receiving dental cleaning is a must to achieve excellent oral health. Visiting a dental professional at least every 6 months is crucial even if you floss everyday and brush your teeth for the full 2 minutes twice a day. These visits will allow a dentist to detect any problems with a thorough examination and seeing a dental hygienist can help you prevent gum disease and tooth decay. Call us at 705-522-4252 to book your appointment. #Dentistry #dentalworld #dentist #nocavities #oralhfealth #healthyteeth #ddentallife #toothbrush #sudbury #ontario #floss

When should you start taking your child to the dentist? A parent should take their child to see the dentist for the first time within 6 months of eruption of the first tooth. The first visit is about building trust and introducing the child to the dental world. Developing and maintaining proper oral hygiene at a young age is utmost important. Some children will feel intimidated or anxious, so it is up to the parents to educate and teach them how to overcome the fear. The ultimate goal is to ensure our children get a positive experience. #Dentistry #dentalworld #dentist #nocavities #oralhealth #healthyteeth #dentallife #toothbrush #sudbury #ontario

There are 3 layers to the tooth enamel, dentin, and pulp. The enamel plays a vital role in protecting the inner layers from being damaged by dietary acids. It also helps keep your pearly whites looking white. Once the enamel is impaired, there is no way to restore it. A damaged enamel makes the tooth very vulnerable to discoloration, tooth sensitivity, and tooth decay. #Dentistry #dentalworld #dentist #nocavities #oralhealth #healthyteeth #dentallife #toothbrush #sudbury #ontario

Are you worried about cavities? Are you wondering what the available options are to reduce the risk of cavities? Have you heard of dental sealants? Dental sealants are plastic coatings that are placed on the chewing surface of the back molars/premolars to protect them from decaying. All chewing surfaces have grooves and fissures that make teeth susceptible to cavities as it can be difficult to clean narrow areas. The benefit of dental sealants is that it can last for several years. #Dentistry #dentalworld #dentist #nocavities #oralhealth #healthyteeth #dentallife #toothbrush #sudbury #ontario

What to do when you experience a toothache? A toothache is when you experience pain in or around a tooth and possibly the jaw. There are different factors that cause pain: cavity, tooth abscess, fracture, damaged fillings, gingivitis, bruxism, etc. There could also be factors not directly related to your oral health such as sinus problems, heart attack, diabetes, drug abuse, vitamin deficiency, etc. The ache can be described as throbbing pain or noticeable swelling in or aro...und your tooth/gum, or sharp pain when you bite down, and sensitivity when exposed to hot or cold foods and beverages. A few ways to alleviate the aching is by taking over-the-counter pain medication, rinsing your mouth with salt water, applying an ice pack, avoid eating foods that aggravate the affected area, and elevating your head at bedtime. However, if the pain persists for longer than 2 days and involving a fever, headache, difficulty breathing and swallowing, it is recommended to see the dentist as soon as possible. #Dentistry #dentalworld #dentist #nocavities #oralhealth #healthyteeth #dentallife #toothbrush #sudbury #ontario
