The Rotary Club of Sudbury recently presented us with a donation for $3,600, raised through their annual Rotary Ham Fundraiser. Presenting the donation to Dan is Jennifer McGillvray Club President and past President Rick MacKenzie. The Sudbury Food Bank would like to sincerely thank all of the Sudbury Rotary Club Members for their generosity!

We would like to thank Adventure365 for their wonderful $2,500 donation to assist the Sudbury Food Bank in its efforts to feed our regions hungry. Adventure 365 believes firmly in supporting their local community when and if possible!

The Down Syndrome Association of Sudbury Christmas Party is their best attended event because their children, regardless of their age, love Santa Claus. As a g...roup they have not had the opportunity to socially gather throughout the whole year so the Down Syndrome Association of Sudbury decided that they would try and put some smiles on their members faces for this unprecedented Christmas season. In order to achieve this, they put together Christmas baskets (39 in total) and tried to utilize local businesses as much as possible which included Christmas ornaments, cookies, candles, facemasks and Christmas cards from the Sudbury Food Bank. They delivered these baskets to their members and there were smiles all around. Funds from Delta Bingo and Gaming helped make this possible. We want to thank Cohabitat Sweetfern Cohousing for the recent $500 donation to the Sudbury Food Bank! Sweetfern has several households that are forming an inclusive and sustainable cohousing community in Sudbury. The group’s vision is to build 15-24 fully equipped private homes combined with shared spaces. The donation was raised through a recent online information workshop Cohousing 101.

A big thank you goes out to Khalsa Aid Canada, Sudbury division, for their recent donation of over 4,400 pounds of food to the Sudbury Food Bank! With increased usage of our services during these challenging times, it is donations like this that will help us continue to serve those dealing with food insecurity in our communities.
